Lyrics part III (or something like that)

I know I'm not working hard enough when I can update my journal two days in a row. Oh well, I'll just suck it up.
I really don't have much to say. I actually just wanted to post lyrics to these two songs I really like. They're neat. And depressing in their own special ways. Yay!! (blue!!)

Modern Way (Kaiser Chiefs :does the fake shock face:)

I know '‘cos I've seen it
It was great and I want it
There'’s no point in sitting
Going crazy on my own
Do you know what
I was put here in the world for
Could you tell me
In three words or more

It's the only way of getting out of here
It's the only way of getting out of here

Take a lesson
From the ones who have been there
My brain is not damaged
But in need of some repair
Hold on to the basics
But we can't change all our tactics
There's no point in sitting
Going crazy on your own

It's the only way of getting out of here
It's the only way of getting out of here

This is the modern way
Of faking it everyday
And taking it as we come
We're not the only ones
Is that what we used to say
This is the modern way

I know where I'm going
And that we are in the knowing
And I will stop at nothing
Just to get what I want

It's the only way of getting out of here
It's the only way of getting out of here

This is the modern way
Of faking it everyday
And taking it as we come
We're not the only ones
Is that what we used to say
This is the modern way (hard to read yellow!!)

Toto Dies (Nellie McKay)

And when the dawn breaks through the drums start
beating the morning to the farm
your grimace widens and your lips part
sounding the silent alarm
and when the bells explode they scatter
hitching a hand unto the breeze
the grand bureaucracy grows fatter
whistling the old melodies

oh-ee-oh goes the Buckingham jewel guard
oh-ee-oh goes the cop on the beat
oh-ee-oh goes the kid in the schoolyard
oh-ee-oh goes the kid on the street
Hey man what'’s happenin'’ with you?
I watched that episode too
maybe I'’ll get some Chinese
I'’ll have the dumplings
no MSG please

And when the night breaks through they wonder
if all they lost was self-respect
they pass the homes of greed and plunder
still, ling'’ring on, the disconnect

oh-ee-oh sittin' down for the evening
oh-ee-oh through the civil earthquake
oh-ee-oh safe in bed and they'’re dreamin'
heaven knows if they'll ever awake

Yeah I'’ll have my coffee black
hey look we'’re bombing Iraq
I guess thatÂ’s the only way
oh did I tell you we got Fifi spayed?
and when they get to work they hear drums
the boom fills all the empty space
they file papers lada-dee-dum
trimming their shoebox with lace

oh-ee-oh but there'’s somethin'’ a growin'
oh-ee-oh through the bustle and hiss
oh-ee-oh fuck the lawns that need mowin'
oh-ee-oh there is somethin'’ amiss
oh-ee-oh oh-ee-oh oh-ee-oh
oh-ee-oh-ee-oh-ee-oh (pink!!)

Another song you should listen to is "Jingle Jangle" by Hot Hot Heat. Also depressing in a way. Or anything by the Kinks. Also kind of sad. The neat thing about those two songs/bands is the tune and rhythm are pretty upbeat, so you don't feel like you're listening to depressing as heck songs. My favorite kind of depressing music. The deceptive kind. (green!!)

Bend and Break

My cd has yet to come. I offically hate Sony. I don't hate Franzie, I hate Sony. In this hate for Sony I will listen to Keane non-stop until I get the new Franzie. Or something like that.
Dad has the mumps. Mums has lost 11 pounds due to stress. Sophs is depressed. Me? I painted my finger nails navy blue. I'm actually doing pretty well. I went to see a play with Jackie on Saturday then I went over to her house and did a jigsaw puzzle with her, Iris, and Angel. I had a blast. I'm the only person in my family who isn't feeling like shit for one reason or another. Pretty special for me.
November 4. The last day of marching band and the last day of the quarter. I'm literally counting down the days. Well not literally, literally, but more theoretically. Which isn't literally at all but thats really beside the point. I'm excited to say the least. It's all almost over!!! Hopefully the rest of the season will go well and the rest of the quarter will go well too. That way I can get my mp3 back!!! w00t!!
My clarinet helps me compensate for my low singing range. :nods:
Not much else to report. It was really weird talking to Sophs today. She just sounded exactly the way I must have sounded when I was at Stu in 9th grade. It was almost scary in a way. Depression sucks ass. :contemplates the tone of last sentence: Hmmm, I really do mean that seriously ya know. The worst part is that you, by yourself, can do nothing to stop depression. Eating, sleeping, singing, none of it helps. So sad.
"If only I don't bend and break
I'll meet you on the otherside
I'll meet you in the light..."

Review

I can always count on the Washington Post to give a review of the show I saw last whenever. Here it is for your reading pleasure the review of Monday's concert.
In other news, there is no other news. Read the review while I curse out Sony. A week, a goddamn fucking week!

Things

The back of my neck hurts. I'm hoping this has nothing to do with last night. I feel fairly confident that it doesn't, but honestly ya never know. I just want my neck to stop hurting.
I did my English oral today. People seemed impressed with how I did. I was nervous the whole time and couldn't think straight. My transitions sucked, but at least I tried to have some fluency between each subject. I had too many quotes, but when I realized that I has mostly done and really wanted to include the quotes that I had left. Damn I sucked. I honestly don't care what Alex and Kaitlyn said, I didn't like my oral. I'm going to have indigestion the rest of the day. I hate this.
I will again fail to write properly about the concert last night. Sophs thinks it's a futile excersise and quite frankly I haven't been able to do it, so I'm not going to try. I will say this though --- I wish that I could here Ricky's voice everday and that I knew someone half as cool as Dave Grohl, Rivers Como (lead singer o' Weezer) and Ricky. It was, to use Dave's favorite curse word, fucking awsome.

Last Night

"We've been hired to warm you up."- Ricky :swoon:

Set List
Na Na Na Na Na
Saturday Night
Everday I Love You Less and Less
Sink That Ship :yearns for single:
I Predict a Riot
Modern Way
OMG

Kaiser Chiefs...I love them, but very few last night loved them. Twas terribly sad. Ricky was horribly frustrated. It was their last night. Soon they go off to the UK to tour avec The Cribs and les Maxie poo. :wishes she lived in UK:

"Are you ready to be conquered?"- Ricky

Bad News

Oh my little fishes I need some good news asap. I have C's in two of my favorite classes. I don't know how I'm going to explain this to Mums and Dad. It's such a huge disappointment to me and I know it will be an even bigger one to them. I can kind of explain the history grade, but English? I don't know what I'm going to do. The thought of having to explain this them just makes me sick. I know it's just an interim and that I'll have lots of oppurtunties to make up for the lackluster performance, but still. Ugh...I just feel awful.
Ya know what else is bugging me? My lack of the YCHISMB. I ordered it from Sony so I'm getting a bonus cd for free, but they didn't send out the thing until yesterday. So far the only songs I've heard from the new cd are "Do You Want To?" and "The Fallen." I heard "The Fallen" last night on the Hard Rock concert thingy on MTV and I must say, I really like it. There's no doubt in my mind I'll like the rest of the CD, I just really, really want it. Ugh, this waiting is killing me.
A home game, homecoming, states, another home game. Another month of marching band. :sighs: I'm going to die in that month. These grades and marching band will sap me of what little creative output I have. I have choir. I have my bands. I have English and History. I know I'll make it. I hope I can.
Call out to Avers: A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings. Remember that? From 9th grade? Booya. Rereading. So much fun.

1 Day!!!

Only one day my little ones before the new Franzie cd comes out!!!! :does a little dance, doesn't make a little love, gets down tonight: Totally siked. Definatly going to do my best to represent the Franz.
In other words, I have a couple thingies that I'm going to post. I hate calling them...poems, but techinally thats what they are. In any event do give them a read and don't forget what tomorrow is....THE BEST DAY IN THE UNIVERSE!!!

(none of these have titles)
(and some are kind of long)
Violin sixteenths
Cello eighths
Consistant rhythms
Constant melody
Back and forth duets
Rolling music
Train of thought
Music is not background
It's only the subconsciounce
Weilding its only sword
I listen to it patiently
I listen for its cause
Violin sixteenths
Cello eighths
Consistant rhythms
Constant melody

(inspired by "Psycho" soundtrack)

Flirt
Wink of an eye
Batting your lashes
Seduce
Wiggle the hips
Pout your lips
Get the boy
Before he gets you

(no inspiration...I don't even do that)
Waking up
A darkened room
Grope for a light
Search for a path
Morning light
Eyes slowly adjust
Coffee and toast
Newspaper headlines
Garrison Keeler reading poetry
Packing up
Start the car
Finally gone

(not a favorite, but okay)
YOU COULD HAVE IT SO MUCH BETTER........WITH FRANZIE POO!!!

Random Thoughts at almost 11 o'clock

7 days my little guinea pigs. 7 days. :wiggles eyebrows in a silly manner:
Snipers!! It's about snipers...Oh Blender, what light ye shed upon my silly brain, what glorious light.
I am now 1 step closer to getting out of band. :nods: My god smile upon my endeavors. Lord knows I'll need it.

Fangirl

I'm quitting band. I'm nervous about doing it, but I'm really, really glad I am. Incredibly happy about this decision. I'm still a little nervous though. I suppose until it happens, I'll be nervous. I'm joining chorus. I'm kind of excited about that. :sigh: I'm feeling really pensive. And in a desperate need to sing loudly. Or eat.
Hmm...not much has happened today. We had a band competition over the weekend. A total waste of my Saturday, but we did get second place. Lost by 4/10ths of a point. God I hate when Mr. Fore tells that kind of crap. :rolls eyes:
Just so y'all know, I'm a horrible, horrible fangirl. Here I have statistics:
  • 9 Ricky avatars
  • 4 Brandon avatars (use to have more, then I scaled back)
  • 5 Tom avatars (out of 6 Keane avatars, and that's of his foot)
  • 6 Franzie avatars
  • 13 Kaiser Chief avatars
  • 11 Killers avatars
  • 2 pictures of Ricky
  • 6 pictures of Tom
  • 7 pictures of Brandon (not including two colorbars)
  • 1 wanted poster of Tom
Horrible, horrible fangirl. Some might say a Mary Sue. Thought I don't think the term applies here. Mind you it could be worse. Much, much worse. But I do have some self control. Some.

Contentment

My hair is driving me bonkers. Damn band practice made it all yucky and stuff. I just hope it looked good for school pictures. If that doesn’t work out I’ll be sad-ish.
I wish I lived in England. Then I would be able to watch the Franzie weekend on MTV and the whole Kaiser Chief thing too. It makes me sad. Of course there would be some down sides. Like the whole education thing. But other than that I really wished I lived in the UK. I must live there when I get older. I don’t care how utterly impossible it is, I really, really want to be in the UK. God I love that place. Or at least I love the culture. And history. And accents. And square pies.
You know what’s fun? Debating. Talking to Loghman is so much fun for me. It’s really nice to finally have met someone who will talk to me at a high intellectual level, who isn’t Mums or Dad or Sophs. It was just really nice today to talk to him about books and music and all that sort of stuff. It’s taken me awhile to find someone like this, but I suppose you could say it was worth the wait. I certainly think it was.
I’m not feeling very coherent today. I was amazingly coherent during English and history, but after that it went horribly down hill. I suppose it doesn’t really matter too much. It’s not like I have to write a paper tonight or something. :sigh: I’m just kind of mentally exhausted. I’m glad though. Today was actually a really good day.
:lip synchs to Kaiser Chiefs: These nights of booze catch up with yooze…:does little dance: I’m perfectly content mes cheries. Perfectly content.

No Title

What's better? Stress out over every single grade that doesn't reach a certain standard and then flog yourself for not reaching the expectations, or not stress out over every grade, no matter what it is, and then not do as well because you didn't care.
I don't want to not care, but I don't want to flog myself for not getting an A on every single piece of graded work. That doesn't happen for me. I put in a certain amount of effort, depending on the variables that exist and things turn out the way they do. I can't seem to make a half way point between apathy and extreme stress. I don't want to have a nervous breakdown at 18, but I don't want to fail again. So the question is, how does one reach a happy median when everyone around you seems to be at one extreme or another? Maybe I over simplify things, but that is the basic question. Reaching a happy median around people who won't take anything less than 100%. Complicated to a certain extent, but then again the answer could be simple. Try and filter out the people who must get A's or die, and ignore those who don't give a damn. It sounds so simple. Maybe it will work.
I got a 100 on the math homework. Loghman got an 85. He just about died. I was sort of expecting my grade. I did with Ms. Buchanan and we checked the answers in the back of the book. Still, was it fair? Was it fair that I took that course over the summer, which was open to everyone, and am now way, way ahead of everyone else? Is it fair that I can write for both English and History equally well? Is it fair that I have certain gifts in those two areas? What is fair? A constant plague between what is deserved and what is given. Nothing is equal, though philosophers wish there was a world that was. So, I get 100 because of certain advantages and Loghman gets an 85 because he doesn't have those advantages. Fair? Not necessarily, but then what is fair?
Sorry for all the philosophy. I guess I'm just in a contemplative mood today. Physics was so boring, and math is just repeative for me, so what else is there to do? Plus, I finished Cross Channel this morning so I have nothing to read. Poor me. :rolls eyes: I need a good shot of caffeine and then I'll be ready to go. Yeah, hopefully.
More later, now I read trash.

Lyrics (Jacqueline)

I don't do this very often, but right now I just need to have something here. I'm in such and awful state, or was in an awful state last night, that I need to say it somehow. I'm short on time, so this is the best I can do:

Gregor was down again
Said, 'Come on, kick me again'
Said, 'I'm so drunk I don't mind if you kill me'

Come on you gutless
Yeah, I'm alive
I'm alive
I'm alive and how I know it
But for chips, and for freedom I could die

It's funny how certain bands, they just make me feel better. I don't feel bad when I listen to Franzie, or the Killers. I feel better. Mind you it would have been really nice to have last night gone a lot better, but I shouldn't expect so much from Mr. Fore. He never matured beyond about 6th grade. :sigh: My throat hurts. Goddamn bastard.

Blather blither

Can't concentrate.
I listened to a bit over an hour of the Beatles. Immediately there after I started listening to Keane. I swear to god I need to branch out a little. I got a ton of other cds, but I haven't listened to half of them in years. Sadness beyond all sadness. My mind is becoming narrower by the minute.
I'm a horrible pop junkie. My choice to replace Keane -- Natalie Imbruglia. Yeah. Me <3 pop. Ugh. I feel a little worn. I'm uber tired of pulling b.s. out of my ass for English, and history just depresses me. I hate procrastinating because I know thats what I'm doing and it frustrates me to no end. Then again I can't seem to write tonight. My mind refuses to cooperate with me. It wants to play 3 Lines. Stupid poop. In any event, this evening is not going particularly well for me. The rest of the day was fine though.
:sings: It's too late, oh don't come crawling...

Choir

There is a difference between the fine arts, band, choir/chorus, and string people. Unfortunatly you have to be one the above to be able to tell. Or least be fairly familiar with the above groups. Otherwize you'd never know. Or at least not really know, and that would be bad. Because there is a difference.
I started choir today at the church Mum goes to. Since Dad is aethesist, Mums is the religious person in the family. I'm fairly ambvialent and was completely awed by the service today. I'm fairly sure that by the end of the year I will be completely against the church. Hopefully not. In any event I started choir.
There is a difference between choir/chorus people and band people. Or at least there's a difference between me and the people in choir. It's not intelligence, it's personality. My personality is different from the rest of the choir members. Then again the same could be said for me and the rest of the clarinet section. In any event I could tell right off the bat that the people who are doing this are in their high school chorus. But I suppose it doesn't really matter. Depending on how much of a jerk Mr. Fore is I may not do band next year. Hopefully things will work out, but if they don't then I might as well get use to choir/chorus people.
I'm glad that I'm doing this though. I love singing and it's always more fun to perform with live people, so I think this is a good thing to do. :repeats this phrase ad nausem:
:looks around the room: God this place a pig stye. My lovely little hell hole. I should clean up.
My mother told me yesterday that if Loghman asks me out I should say yes. This comes from the fact that on Thursday, when it was fairly clear that I was sick, Loghman said he would be very disappointed if I wasn't in history the next day. Sadly for Loghman I wasn't in history on Friday, in fact I think I was sleeping through most of history. I felt awful, but I thought about how disappointed he might have been. I hope he was joking. I hope that Mums and Dad and Sophs are all wrong. I hope he doesn't ask me out. Because going out with Loghman is a very hard idea for me to swallow.
Theeta. Not thada. Remember that children.

Feeding the Obsession

Alright. So my big huge post about school did not come on Friday. So here's a really short summary: I fucking love all my teachers. I'm so incredibly happy, I leave school in a good mood. I'm just so blessed with some really great teachers this year. I'm glad that this is happening this year. I don't really care about my teachers next year, but this year, after all the worrying...God I'm just so glad that things seem to be working out well. I hope it continues throughout the year.
Hmm....Yeah. I can't wait till math tomorrow. I just know that I'll be hyper when I leave. :smiles: Anglophile: One who admires England, its people, and its culture.
Just put in "is obsessed" and ya got me. I seriously need to get a grip or move there.

Pissy

This is making me angry
Read the article. On the second page about midway down the first column the author starts talking about Keane. Essentially it's a diss to both bands, which made me really angry. I didn't actually finish reading it because I couldn't get past that bit in the article. I love both bands completely and reading something so nasty makes me cringe. Of course I don't mind the fact that Ricky doesn't like Keane. I mean compare the two and there is no reason for him to like Keane. But there is no point in being so...nasty to Keane. That makes Keane look bad (which isn't deserved) and it makes the Kaiser Chiefs look mean (which isn't true.) Ugh!!
So I leave the library after lunch. Loghman was in the library too, but he left before I did because he didn't have to put back a magazine. So there are steps up to the upper level of the school and a door. Behind the door, there's Loghman, waiting for me. We walked back to class together. He sits next me (actually across the one/two foot aisle) in history. He sits right next to me in math. Sad thing is, if he likes me, it's not reciprocated. Plus, he's highly conservative. A very nice person, but very conservative. Would never work. Then again maybe I'm reading too much into this. More likely. Anyway, thought you might like to know.

Meep

Really trying hard to avoid doing my homework. I have to read a chapter in music history and I have a short english assigment. It's not that I don't want to do them, I'm just very much in the habit of avoiding such things. Oh well. None of it's due till Thursday.
I'm deciding to wait till Friday to give my full report on school. I figure my memory is good enough to remember four days of school, and if it's not something is seriously wrong. Thus far I'm having a good time and like the my teachers (or at least the ones I didn't already like) and I'm hoping the trend will continue tomorrow. Anywho I promise promise to give a full report Friday. I just don't have time today. Too much was spent wasting said time. Also I just don't feel like it. And this isn't a homework assigment. :sticks out tongue:

Yellow Tape and History

It's amazing what nature can do. I'm also fasicnated with how we humans deal with what was bound to happen.
I'll admit I haven't been the most attentive to Katrina and her after effects. I've heard about them from large print bold headlines, NPR, and what my parents have discussed. I'm shocked with how the government has responded (or how they didn't respond) but I'm also amazed with how little was done in preparation. I understand, the funding wasn't there etc, etc, but that doesn't make me any less shocked.
In all honesty though, I don't care. I have basically two days until I start my junior year of high school. I know it sounds callous and selfish, but the poor (as in no money) people in a city in the deep south that I've never been to don't trump that. I've never really cared about the greater world issues that so many other people care about. Iraqi, the tsunami, all that -- I could care less. I'm not ignorant to what's happening, I just don't care. I have so much else happening, so much to think about, so much conflict both internal and external to deal with that caring deeply about politics just doesn't fit. I can't be that selfless. And for that I am sorry. I wish I gave a damn about what is happening down in New Orleans, but I don't.
This morning about the same time I was suppose to be leaving for a haircut sirens came screeching down my street. An ambulance, fire truck, emergency vehicles and a police car I think. I've been so nervous about school I didn't notice every last car. According to one of the policemen the youngest son of our next door neighbor got crushed under the garage door. He left the scene unconscious. The father had been working on the door and his two sons were running around. Who was to know that the door would come down just as the youngest was underneath it? I know my mother will be praying for him tonight. I'm not the kind of person who prays, but I hope that the little boy comes out alright.
Funny how things happen. History is happening, people close by are having their houses taped off with yellow tape and what am I thinking about? September 6th. Not Katrina, not the boy next door, not whats going to happen to our government, no I'm nervous about something that is so seemingly superfluous. But isn't history filled with things like that? Great literature certainly is. Doesn't make me feel better, but at least I know I'm not the only person in the world who hasn't cared.

31.8.05

Nerves and Palms

6 days till school starts. I' m wondering whether I should wear boots the first day, though that seems rather stupid. Probably better off wearing my clogs. I'm not really nervous yet, just in disbelief that school is starting so soon. I'm sure by Monday I'll be in a panic, and Tuesday morning I won't be awake enough to be in a panic. God I'll barely be awake enough to remember my preordained outfit. Also, I won't have my mp3 to save me. Ah well. I just can't believe it.
My palms are getting sweaty. I must be nervous.
I wish I could get sick right now. If I became sick then I wouldn't have to go to marching band. Well, I would have to go, but I wouldn't have to march. Maybe I could somehow break my arm in the next 15 minutes. Yeah. :rolls eyes: I'm so pathetic. But can you really blame me? Marching band sucks and anyone who says otherwize is a complete looney. :sigh: I guess I shouldn't complain. That only makes the whole thing worse.
I may get nervous about school, but it will defininatly be a much needed relief. No longer will I have to find ways to entertain myself!! Nay I will forced to work arduous hours to appease the homework gods with nary a break. What a relief from the tedium that is August.
Sing loud, listen long, read much, smile often. Thats what I say.

I officially declare insanity

I officially declare insanity. I honestly think I’ve gone over the edge of fangirl-dom into shear madness. Last night was amazing (if slightly disappointing) and I’m getting so pumped up about October, I don’t even know if I’ll be able to handle school. I mean there’s the concert (Foo Fighters, Weezer, t’Chiefs) and the new Franzie cd that month. God I don’t know if I’ll be able to handle it. That’s why I’m declaring myself insane until then. After October I think I’ll be okay. Until then, I think I’ll be crazy.
I’m suppose to be doing my English. The whole first part though is retyping these passages, which is incredibly dull. So to fight this off I have t’Chiefs on. After t’Chiefs I will listen to the Killers. I’m not entirely sure if I’ll watch the VMAs, but I’m pretty sure I will. I’m just that devoted. :sigh: I can’t wait till school starts.

Keane on SNL

:thinks: This is a repeat. A goddamn fucking repeat of fucking SNL. :slumps: Stupid weekend update making me think this was live. Then again maybe I'm just not very smart. :thinks: I think it's that yeah.
1st song: Simple Thing
Tom always wears black. I don't think he's ever worn anything else when he performs. May haps he's making up for his purple pants incident? Tom in purple pants. So yeah. Gorgeous, gorgeous, even in purple pants. (credit to curlyheadgt at livejournal)
2nd song: Everbody's Changing
Love, ah what a word.
(P.S.-fucking hour and half to hear/see them for 6ish minutes. Well worth it, but still, long time)

27.8.05

Keane in 4 minutes (SNL)

I'm going to watch Keane, and then I'm going to die. I'll die an incredibly happy woman and will never ever have to deal with high school or college or falling in love or Dr. Farber. Yes I will be completely happy, so I'll be able to die. :sigh: Oh I do love Tom so much.
Like the layout?

Lonely

:sigh: Is there such a thing as too much music?
I'm not sure what to write about. I have the whole night to myself (which I hate) and I don't know what I want to do. My best idea is to listen to all my favorite cds and fill the house with noise so I don't feel so lonely, cuz I don't really want to watch a movie. Or at least if I watch a movie I'll still feel lonely.
I feel lonely when I'm by myself for one reason. Stuart Hall. Spending so much time by myself there has left me with a big need to never be alone again. It's not that I want to be social, I just don't want to be (etre) without people.
I feel incoherant right now. I'm terribly sorry I haven't been updating. I don't really have the time though. I'm either at band or sleeping because of band. I don't have that much time basically. It makes me sad, but honestly who reads this? NO ONE.
:sigh: My best friends are make believe and my love life is a fantasy. I don't think thats sad do you?

22.8.05

Mark time Mark

Today begins my second week of band camp. Thank Bob I don't have to go in the morning this week!
So far I have burned my back to nice dark tan, lost complete faith in the musicality of people, practically cried and found my new John. Much like the band I'm way ahead of schedule compared to last year. I mean I was still in the mindset that nothing could go wrong last year and this year I'm almost as pessimistic as I was in mid-September of last year. Yay!
On the other hand my dissent into school paranoia has been stopped. Most of that energy is being taken up in hating marching band and all that it stands for. Sadly even that energy isn't enough to keep me from not being able to keep my eyes open if I don't take a nap in between the morning session and the afternoon session. :nods sagely: Oh the loathing is deep.
In other good news I have heard the new single from the new Franzie cd. :claps: Much goodness mes copains. Of course it's totally illegal and I'm now going to be arrested. :waits: Yeah.

Also I have finished 2/3 of my summer assignments. Considering how there are 3 (essentially) thats pretty damn hot. Hopefully the history essay isn't too snarky. I'm a little worried about that. But nonetheless I am very happy to be done with that. Now all I have left is a little more Gatsby annotating and I'll be all ready for school.
Oh one last thing. That whole thingy about not seeing Dr. Farber is now complete bs. Mums talked to him last Thursday and well...he's too damn smart! Convinced the pants off of her so I'm going to continue to see the head shrinker. Guess it's not so bad. :shrugs:
"Hi Loghman! Why no I'm not trying to hide from all these people, you're crazy."

Caffeine and Bouncy Music

I'm getting the distinct feeling that I'm going to need a lot of caffeine and that I won't be able to listen to Keane. That "Marvin mood" I was talking about the other day has been lurking around far longer than I wanted. So, the best remedy I have is to listen to incredibly bouncy music and have lots of caffeine to keep my energy up. I can't quite put my finger on the cause of the Marvin mood but I'm fairly sure it has something to do with the impending weeks.
To start off with I have a week at the beach avec ma mere's famille. It's not that I hate these guys, it's just...well they annoy the crap out of me if I spend too much time with them. So what should have been my last week of vacation is turning out to be a week of hermiting with my Dad. To say the least, this is not how I like to spend a week at the beach. Hopefully though, things won't turn out too badly and all this ill feeling will be for not.
Then of course we have marching band. :scowls: Yes starting a week from Monday I'm going to be counting down the days till November when the band's "Tag Day" concert is, and when marching band season officially ends. I think this year will be particularly painful because the music annoys me so much. I mean by the time school started last year, I hated marching band. And last year we did "West Side Story" a musically I really like. So just imagine going into this with a deep dislike of the music. Torture my friends, torture.

So marching band starts about 3 weeks before school. Thinking about marching band makes me think about school. Despite the fact that I really have nothing to fear, I'm still kind of scared of school this year. Thankfully my fears have moved from academic to social. See, I'm use to being afraid of the social part of school. This I can handle in some manner. I guess really I'm not afraid so much as nervous. There are certain people (Loghman, Marshall) who I really want to be in my class(es) this upcoming year. And then there are the people (Alec, Miles) who I really don't want in my classes this year, and because of the sort of non-traditional set of classes I'm taking (regular physics, 10th grade p.e., not foreign language) there's a very good chance the aformentioned people could be and could not be in my classes. I'm just very worried about the social aspect of my school life this year, and of course the old "falling into bad habits" thing. That definantly worries me.
:sigh: The one thing I have to look forward to is the new Franzie cd. It comes out in October and the single is set for release on Sept. 19. I have that to look forward to and possibly the new Killers cd sometime in the winter/early spring. Plus there's English this year. Amazingly enough I'm really looking forward to that. Ever since I decided that I want to be an English major I've been looking forward to whatever English holds for me this year. :nods: I have a couple of things to look forward to.
"This fire is out of control..."-This Fire, Franzie
Edit: Something I didn't mention when I orginally posted this entry was the fact that I won't be seeing Dr. Farber anymore. It's for the best, but still something like this makes one worry. How will he react? How will I do without seeing him? :sigh: It makes me worry. Thats probably the biggest worry, and something I have no control over. To a certain extent I have control over some of what is bogging me down, but this I can do nothing about. Big decisions make me worry. And to say the least, this is a big decision.

Stupid Franzie

:glares at Franzie: EITHER DO THE ORIGINAL OR GODDAMNIT NAME THE SONG SOMETHING ELSE!!!!!!!
This makes me mad. I forget which album, but the Beatles did a song called "This Boy." Oh wait it's on Past Masters 1. I love that song. Johnny boy sings, and damn if he doesn't sound passionate. Stupid franzie. Couldn't they have named their song something else? I mean really.
Alright, thats all for now. I have to calm myself down.

CHEESE!!!

As anyone who's knows (my family and few stu people) me knows I love cheese. So here's a quiz I just found.
I am camembert!
Cheese Test: What type of cheese are you?

Ugh

I'm in a bit of Marvin mood. Too many back to school adverts, not enough confidence in myself. In any event I had promised a full report on the last weeks concert but after a week I decided the following link should be enough. I gave you the play list didn't I? Ugh, I honestly feel like Marvin. If you don't know who I'm talking about GO READ HITCHHIKER'S!!!!! I command you do it. I'll feel better. Well here's the link
Kaiser Chiefs
Yay!! I've never done that before. I feel kinda spiff now. Oh and another thing. GO LISTEN TO MAXIMO PARK!!! There all my yelling and commanding is finished for the night. Hope I feel better soon :laughs sarcastically:

Here is the song list of the concert on Friday night. I'm working up a big entry on the whole thing but I thought I'd give you a morsel. So here:

  1. Na Na Na Na Naa
  2. Saturday Night
  3. Everyday I Love You Less and Less
  4. Born To Be a Dancer
  5. I Predict a Riot
  6. You Can Have It All (damn you Helen!!!)
  7. ? (possible b-side though I wouldn't know)
  8. Modern Way (salute)
  9. Oh My God
  10. Time Honoured Tradition (with correct British spelling)

Encore

  1. Caroline, Yes
  2. Nice Place (that was in the chorus, again possible b-side)

So there you go. Lovely show, big entry up tomorrow hopefully.

Edit as of January 2, 2006: The last song they played was "Take my Temperature." It wasn't the chorus either. It was the bit before the chorus in the first verse. :nods: Still don't know what the other b-side track is. Didn't write any nice clues for that. Anywho, carry on.

Drive

Today I went driving. I haven't been out driving since May at least, and today was excellent. There is a park about 15 minutes from my house with lots of empty parking lots and few two way roads that go for a long way. Lake Fairfax is the name. Mums and I went up to the this area I didn't know was there. It was up a hill, up a slightly windy road that someday I will drive down, where there are 3 soccer fields and a place for campers to park and such. At the end of the area there is a smallish parking lot. After a reminder of which was the brake and the accelerator, I drove around the parking lot four times and then went down the road, which was also slightly windy, and drove into the camper parking lot. That end was gravel, which I don't particularly like, and had a little nook where one could park a regular car. Mums thought I would just make an oval and head back towards the other end. I had other plans. I took a straight path towards the very last parking space and with full intention slowing down made my way into the spot. Unfortunatly I gave Mums quite a scare by accidently accelerating into the spot. After calming down I backed out of the spot and headed back to the other parking lot. This routine (minus the slam into parking spot) occured 3 times. As we drove back to the other end one last time Mums wondered out loud whether we were entertaining the camper parking lot attendant. I saw a cell phone in his hand and assumed that the eyes behind the sunglasses could care less. I hope I didn't entertain him. Lord I entertained myself though. One who doesn't know me shouldn't drive with, for I believe said person would never want to know me. I made many odd little noises while making my right hand turns very slowly. All in all a fun 45 minutes. I hope tomorrow will be even better. And one day I will drive down the hill with Mums gripping the side of the door very tightly. I don't care what the crazy lady says, I know driving down that hill will be fun.

I feel fine...

I feel fine, I think I'll go for a walk now. :Falls over: Damn vicodine. Ah but at least it makes my mouth not hurt.
I gots my wisdom teeth out yesterday. I'm now 4x stupider (hohoho.) I'll tell ya one thing. Numb chins are a real pain. I couldn't tell what I was doing when I was sipping my chocolate milk. I was quite worried that I was slopping all over myself. Thankfully I wasn't. So do ya want to here my wisdom teeth surgery story? It's really interesting!
So I went in really, really nervous. I didn't want to do it at all. But I didn't really have a choice. So I was proped up in this dentist chair. The nice assistant person put three monitors on me and then this white cover sheet. Then the knock out person came and put an oxygen thing up my nose, which wasn't very comfortable. Then Dr Bonnaci (or however you spell his name) stuck a thing in my hand and commented on the fact that I have small veins. After el doctero stuck the needle in my hand the knock out guy told me to take some deep breathes through my nose. Then I woke up. The funny thing is after surgeries they always put a blanket over you. I guess it's nice in a way. Just something funny.
So there's my story. I spent the rest of the day in mum's bed sleeping and drinking chocolate milk. After Gilmore Girls I got a milkshake, which was really good. Took another vicodine, checked stuff on my computer, fell asleep. All in all a pretty okay day. Didn't sleep well. Woke up with a great pain in my mouth, after the vicodine and ibprofen wore off. Had some weird thoughts about the whole matter. Noticed that my face was swelling up. Thought that if lied on the opposite side of the swelling, said swelling would stop. Not so much.
Ya know whats good? Scrambled eggs with cheese. :nods: That and ice cream. :nods: Sigh. Thats it kiddies. Have a good time doing stuff.

6.7.05

Holy Diet Coke!

I'm updating two days in a row!! Shock and awe. I felt I owed it to you guys to actually say something about the last month or so. Now it's kind of late, and for me it's rather hard to describe but I'll try. Hmm lets see...
Well my last real entry said that the summer has started off badly. It kinda went down hill from there, but it's not too horrible now. Actually that first week was probably the worst. The after shock of my report card always makes Mum go crazy. Dad was switching law offices, so he's been pretty much out of the whole thing. Which is good in a way. Dad is always worse than Mum. Cold silence is much worse than yelling any day of the week in my book. Anyway, the only way I made it through the week was distracting myself with clarinet camp (which I'll get to) and listening to Keane. Mostly Keane anyway. I've been branching out. Ya know Maximo Park, Hot Hot Heat, Keane. A large percentage Keane. I made it through the worst, like I always do, and have survived to tell the tale. Like I always do.
Now Clarinet Camp. I've decided that I never, ever want to be a professional clarinet player. Nor do I want to go to a music school. Really I would just like to avoid having anything to do with professional playing at all. I don't have the heart. And I really don't want to socialize with the people who do. I've decided that even teachers are either flakes, space cadets or control freaks. Nothing else between the head. No intellect, no curiousity. Oh just nothing I can connect with. I have the love of music to take me through the next two years, but I don't have the passion to make it through the next 6 years. Maybe the only thing that could get me to keep with this through college is if I could find the weirdos. The weirdos would make the others bareable. Oh yes. Oh! One thing. If anyone goes to VCU and knows Dr. West, I'm sorry for the following comment. God what a fucking dick. I totally fucked up the last part of our last piece. I didn't come in at the beginning (no thanks to the 13 bar rest) and Dr. West got me in just in time for my last solo. So when he comes to say hi, no "good job on the solos." No he goes right in the for the kill. I was sweating like a dog and felt horrible. Thanks Dr. West for your fake enthusazem. Really the people I most appreciated weren't the dick who was conducting (though I was thankful for his cues) but the two people sitting right next to me.
Dr. Brian Jones is a bit of an oddball. Different sense of humor than most people, but something I appreciate. He plays bass clarinet, and I'm not even going to go in to my impression of him from last year. Totally false. Anyway, he was sitting next to me the whole time. In my first solo I was so freaked out that I didn't notice anything strange. Mums and Sophs says he was smiling, which was nice. No it wasn't until my second solo that I noticed something. He was softly clapping on his leg. The guy was clapping for me. The only people who have ever appreciated my playing and said so are Ms. Blum, my mom and Judy (in a way.) The fact that some guy who didn't know me, who teaches far more talented students was clapping for me, god it just made my night.
So other than totally messing the fugue, the finale concert went really well. Now I get to retell the "story" all over again tomorrow for Nancy. Yay!
Hmm, lets see what else. Mums took my internet card away, but it isn't a punishment. It's get me to try and control how much time I spend online. Since then I've slept a lot, tried to get my score in spider solitare under 1190 and read a book. The book is my proudest accomplishment. Julian Barnes, just fyi, is a really great author. Kinda like Douglas Adams (GO READ HITCHHIKER'S) but more serious. And not sci-fi/fantasy oriented. More "mature." Right now I'm reading "Talking it Over." I read "The History of the World in 10 1/2 Chapters" in a day in a half (ah the irony.) I don't think I'll finish this one quite so fast. Anyway if you've read everything fiction work by Douglas Adams (GO READ HITCHHIKER'S) you should give Julian Barnes.
Hmm...Nothing else to report. I'm going to be doing a survey course of Pre-Calc. There is news concerning a couple of classes I'm taking next year, but I really don't want to go over that again. Very uncomfortable. Just happy I'm not taking french next year. So anywho, not much else to report. Will try to give better reports. Will really try hard to give a better report on t'Chiefs concert (2 weeks 2 days). Like actually tell you about it, which I didn't really do with the Killers/Keane concert. I will try. Goodnight, goodnight...(goes off into a song.)

I'm Back

I've decided that I'm either going to gain a lot of weight or wear a burka so as boys will not stare at me. Especially dumb jerk boys (who live across the street.) I decided this very recently and plan to implement it as soon as I get some money and good place to stash chocolate and the like so the dogs and my mother can't find it.
Uh. This summer is starting off badly. Of course I haven't had a summer that hasn't started off badly since 6th grade. Thankfully I passed all my classes so there won't be any summer school for me!! I am taking a summer course, but thats much different. Thats a choice, not obligation thing. Anyway, I'm going into a meeting tomorrow were I will try not to bash my counselor's head in or the history teacher's head. I hope it won't be to painful and I hope that Mr. Million will not be present. I don't think I could take it if Mr. Million were there. But the meeting will have a happy ending and hopefully will be short. If it isn't I will seriously consider marching out of the room in a very huffy manner.
Lets see, what have you missed? Well since I haven't update since the 13th quite a bit. I've become totally obsessed with Keane, know all the lyrics (amazingly enough) and think Tom Chaplin has the sweetest most wonderful smile ever. Also...I got invited to a party I didn't go to because I had been crying since 8:30 in the morning. I had a horrible last day of school, just horrible. Ugh.
I've been making myself feel better with Keane. I think all of you should go listen to them. Bon nuit mes amies!!

Concert

Fun from start to finish

If there was one lesson to be learned Wednesday night at Merriweather Post Pavilion, it was that nice guys — sensitive guys who probably weren’t the coolest in high school, the kind who love their mothers — sometimes finish first.

Members of the English trio Keane are definitely those guys. Touted as openers for the keyboard-infused quartet the Killers, Keane managed to steal the show from perhaps one of the hottest American rock acts currently on tour — and all without a guitar.

The Killers arrived on a luxuriously curtained and blood-red stage looking as though they’d walked right out of their hometown of Las Vegas. They opened with “Jenny Was a Friend of Mine,” the first song from their 2004 debut release, “Hot Fuss.” The foursome — propelled onto the charts last year with their hits “Somebody Told Me” and “Mr. Brightside” — are part of the brigade of “the” bands (the Vines, the White Stripes, the Strokes), which, generally, are known for resurrecting the sounds of yesteryear.

In the Killers’ case, it’s a provocative mix of 1980s synthesizers and light punk with songs that tell dark Vegas stories about equally dark (but fun and mostly jealous) characters with names such as Natalie, Andy and, of course, Jenny.

Their performance was clearly focused on singer-keyboardist Brandon Flowers — decked out in his trademark black eyeliner and the skinniest pants this side of the Mason-Dixon Line — who came at the crowd with a strong voice and plenty of operatic arm swoops, but not much more.

Words for the crowd were few and far between, and so were surprises — save for a B-side, a new song and Mr. Flowers’ sudden playful tackle of guitarist David Keuning. The earnest and very personable Keane was a tough act for any band to follow, but theKillers’ larger-than-life, blinking-lights performance somehow didn’t quite meet expectations.

Their thousands of fans couldn’t have cared less. The quartet jumped into “Somebody Told Me” early into their set, and within moments, the entire pavilion was singing “You had a boyfriend/Who looks like a girlfriend/That I had in February of last year.”

“Mr. Brightside” was the band’s final song before the encore, and it had many in the crowd speeding back to their seats or their spot on the lawn (beer spilling and nachos flying) to sing along. All in all, a fun show — but maybe they should have opened for Keane.

Source: Washington Times

:claps hands: Yay!! Someone else remembered the concert!!
So what if Brandon isn't personable? So what if the first thing that comes to mind is some Tom (of Keane) said? Plus, the people who left are dorks who don't understand what an encore is. :rolls eyes: Does it help that I love both bands almost equally? Anyway it doesn't really matter if Brandon barely smiled, for me the fact that he was there. And hot. So yeah....have fun!!
Much thanks to TKO (The Killers Online) for posting the article. Tres bien.

Concert=daze

I will begin by saying the concert was absolutly fucking fantastic. It was more than that, but quite frankly my vocabulary seems to disappear when I start to think about the concert. For those of you who have been to a/some rock concert(s) I think you know what I mean. :nods: My fucking god it was awsome. And Brandon was super-duper hot. :nods: :smiles:
KEANE!!!! I (finally) got their cd. They were one of four opening acts, and I just went crazy when I heard them. So on thursday I got their cd. And I have the chorus for the 3 of the first 4 songs stuck in my head currently. They are so totally awsome.
Well my sister has told me to get off so I will. I'll update later. Or some more.

6.6.05

Hot Hot Heat

Oh... Is it real? I don't know
But, I'll act as if it is
What's our deal? I don't know
But, I'll act as if it is what I think that it is
If it is, then this might just work*

Yay for Hot Hot Heat. They have become my new "listen to this cd on repeat 15 times in a row, can't live without it" band. Well "Elevator" has. I don't much care for their previous cd. Which I don't believe was their first, but the other might have been EPs which are different than cds for some reason. Anyway, I love "Elevator."
Two days till the Killers concert. Two days. Just a warning.
A jack-of-all-trades and a master of none
Why do I have to be bored with being foolish and young?
The show isn't over, but I'm long since gone
I feel like I let them down when I don't wanna trade my sunshine for a cloudy night^

I will convince the whole world that Douglas Adams was genius. Even if takes the rest of my life. I do mean that. Everyone will know the genius of Douglas Adams before I die. Goddamnit
Welcome to the island of the honest man
Do what you want - there is no need to impress us
Welcome to the island of the honest man
We don't believe in what the big people tell us~

*You Owe Me and IOU
^Pickin' It Up
~Island of the Honest Man
damnit...I don't have room to quote Middle of Nowhere....go listen to it!!!

Applescrufs

Apple scrufs. Claymates. Victims. Chiefs and Chiefettes. Rabid fans. Fanatics. Just a few words that describe the hopelessly devoted. We listen to every single, cling to every quote and pray that our idol(s) will come to an arena/club/theater nearby. We crave them, learn everything we can about them. I personally make it my mission to know everyone's name in the group and what instrument they play, so I will never be confused. We make up cute nicknames (at least I do) and refer to them by first name, as they're our best friends. Some mock us, but the bands ultimately appreciate us. We give them votes and money. Yes, it is sort of depressing fans have with their idols. The idols love us for our devotion, no matter how horriblly they act, no matter how crappy their music gets, and we love them in turn for breathing, smiling, singing, beating on drums etc. In the end though each camp benefits. The fans give the stars their stardom, and the fans get something to enjoy. Not a perfect relationship, but one that has been going on for decades now. I'm just glad to be a part of it.
I'm in a relatively good mood today. Wish I felt better, but then again Sundays weren't made to be wonderful days. I'm actually feeling very blah-ish, but then there hasn't been a day in the past month or so where that hasn't been true. I know I'm depressed, but it's the kind of depression I've felt for so long that it doesn't faze, doesn't feel weird. It's my reaction to stress. I'm glad though that I'm not at Stu. Somehow I think things would be worse if I weren't here. I know for a fact I'd be eating a pizza right now, all by myself thank you very much. I won't look back, I know I can't. I don't have the energy to save anyone anymore. I'm using all my extra energy trying to save myself and I don't think I'm doing a very good job of it. I'm starting to ramble so I'll move on.
I've applied for my first job. I applied to be a sales clerk at Books-A-Million today. The nice cashier guy said he would give it to the manager and that I'd here from him in a few days. The place was pratically deserted, but then again it is Memorial Day weekend. Maybe its busier during the week. Anyway, I'm very excited and I really, really, hope I get hired. Wish me luck mes copains!!

Happy Endings

Leaning against the window watching the rain, feeling happy, knowing I'll be home in a few hours. {8th grade trip}
Watching a slightly fuzzy image play across the TV making music I didn't think could be made. {Watching Mr. Brightside for the first time}
Squeeling in utter delight as he smiles from the screen. {Watching Help! for the first time in years}
Clapping "off" beat, pissing my sister off. {The Ben Folds concert I went to last year}
Singing with the chorus for my final time, knowing that I can't really cry. {End of the performance at the end of 9th grade}
Wondering what these goofs were sayingover the PA system as I walk around the shop, CD in hand. {First time I heard Kaiser Chiefs over spring break}
Rediscovering the magic that had enchanted me all those years ago. {Listening to the Beatles}
Singing as loudly as I can to ward off all my pain, knowing it won't work, but I'll be damned if every last person won't be able to hear me. {8th and 9th grade}
Annoying Avery with my singing, even if she won't admit that she can hear me. {8th grade}
Critiqueing every singer I've ever heard, secretly knowing that only 2 people can sing better than me.
Jumping octaves when the guys go to low, or the girls go to high.
Cursing my second soprano/alto range.
Learning lyrics as fast as I can so I can sing along, showing off the pipes that God gave me.
Creating whole scenes from songs that I love, and wondering if anyone else could understand them. {9th grade and summer before 10th grade}
Wondering why people didn't love this stuff as much as I do.
Singing for my happy ending.
{These are the memories I think of when I listen to songs. The things that flash through my head as this year draws to a close. I have a month and a day left in this school year. Normally around this time I would be a description of each of my classes, thinking of songs to dedicate to the year. I think I'll do that later though. I don't want to jinx what little luck I might have left by ending the year to quickly. I've just been thinking about this stuff. I've been very contemplative recently. I suppose it's because thats how I am when I'm depressed. I slink into the back of my mind and think of all the things that have passed. This is just my way of letting you into my twisted brain. I put {} around specific memories. Some of what I've written I still do. Some of it is still true. But now I have one last thing to give you. They're two lyrics set in between a play. The songs are soulmates, the play their "father." I hope you appreciate the connection as much as I did this morning as I was washing dishes. And keep in mind that this how my brain works. Random connections that actually make sense.}

Shangri-la{r as Ray Davies sings}
Now that you've found your paradise
This is your Kingdom to command
You can go outside and polish your car
Or sit by the fire in your Shangri-la
Here is your reward for working so hard
Gone are the lavatories in the back yard
Gone are the days when you dreamed of that car
You just want to sit in your Shangri-la

Put on your slippers and sit by the fire
You've reached your top and you just can't get any higher
You're in your place and you know where you are
In your Shangri-la
Sit back in your old rocking chair
You need not worry, you need not care
You can't go anywhere
Shangri-la, Shangri-la, Shangri-la

The little man who gets the train
Got a mortgage hanging over his head
But he's too scared to complain
'Cos he's conditioned that way
Time goes by and he pays off his debts
Got a TV set and a radio
For seven shillings a week
Shangri-la, Shangri-la, Shangri-la, Shangri-la, Shangri-la, Shangri-la

And all the houses in the street have got a name
'Cos all the houses in the street they look the same
Same chimney pots, same little cars, same window panes
The neighbors call to tell you things that you should know
They say their lines, they drink their tea, and then they go
They tell your business in another Shangri-la
The gas bills and the water rates, and payments on the car
Too scared to think about how insecure you are
Life ain't so happy in your little Shangri-la
Shangri-la, Shangri-la la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la

Put on your slippers and sit by the fire
You've reached your top and you just can't get any higher
You're in your place and you know where you are
In your Shangri-la
Sit back in your old rocking chair
You need not worry, you need not care
You can't go anywhere
Shangri-la, Shangri-la, Shangri-la, Shangri-la, Shangri-la, Shangri-la

Death of a Salesmen

Jingle Jangle

Watch your children around the abandoned well
Don't ask me to tell if they slipped and fell
I'm just a salesman with my suitcase in hand
And the perfect plan that should pull me out

Another day, another night, another year
Another smile, another lie, another tear
This better not be all I got
I never thought I'd end up here

Jingle jangle that's the sound of coins
Spent on useless toys made for useless boys
I'm just a salesman with my suitcase in hand
There's a piece of land that I got my eye on

Another day, another night, another year
Another smile, another lie, another tear
This better not be all I got
I never thought I'd end up here

Friday night I'll raise my glass and say
"Tomorrow things will change! I can't afford to wait."
But by Monday morning my alarm clock knows
How this story goes and the ending's the same as the start

Another day, another night, another year
Another smile, another lie, another tear
This better not be all I got
I never thought I'd end up here

Another day, another night, another year
Another smile, another lie, another tear
This better not be all I got
I never thought I'd end up here

Watch your children around the abandoned well
Don't ask me to tell if they slipped and fell
I'm just a salesman with my suitcase in hand
And the perfect plan that I'm working on

3 Months vs. 2 weeks

It has been almost since I first heard the Killers. So it's been about 2 and half months since my complete dissent into popculture. God thats fucking scary.
I have almost a month left of school. Thats full weeks, not school weeks. And that sum includes the days I have off, as well as exam week. Stu on the other hand has about 10 days left. Mind you, I wish I had hell of a lot longer left in the school. I just don't know if I'm ready to be junior. I mean I was ready to be a freshmen, ready to be a sophmore, but I don't think I'm ready to be junior. I can't imagine being an "upperclassmen." I don't see myself as one of those people. Upperclassmen are cool, they have style, they know everything there is to know about all things popular. I don't know anything! I'm the biggest dork around. I'm not ready for that responsibility. I can barely handle the stresses of this year. I'm just scared shitless by it all.
Since I know Liz doesn't read this journal, I think I'll just mention now that I'm cutting any ties I had with her. She's changed into someone I don't want to be around. I can't really call her a slut, because thats not what she is. Liz is just someone I don't want to know anymore. Ah well.
toodles......

Urrr

Urrrrrrrrr. I'm absolutly stuffed. I had the big ass burger for dinner, like 3 diet cokes and then I had a huge piece of mudd cake (bourbon, coffee, chocolate) and a cup of coffee. So not only am I super stuffed, but I won't be able to sleep for a good long time unfortunatly.
But in other news, Sophs has got me hooked on Hot Hot Heat. It's kinda like when I got hooked on the Killers. I keep trying to listen to something else, but I invarably start listening to Hot Hot Heat again. Mind when their first CD came out I constantly made fun of them for their name. Which is kinda ironic, because I'm fairely sure I completely disregarded Franzie too, and now I absolutly love them. But their new CD (Elevator for those of you who don't know, like me) is so addictive. I just want to listen and listen and listen and...well I think you get the point. They're so like the Kinks. I mean, they have the peppy up beat sound and tunes, but if you read the lyrics, my god. So cynical!! But thats the sort of thing that I love. I love cynical happiness. So anyway, I'm really, totally, and utterly addicted.
Uuuuuuuuuhhhhhh. So full. I'm actually kind of tired too.
So have a good week. I don't if I'll be able to update. I got reading to do, and I don't plan on updating. :smiles: Yeah.
:huggles Hot Hot Heat, Avers, and Liz:

Lyrics

God I haven't done an entry like this in forever. I try to stay away from posting lyrics, but today I felt like posting a couple of songs because I want y'all to know I'm here and alive, but I don't really want to say anything. My life is so hectic right now and I'm under so much stress these days, that I don't want to write. Some how it just doesn't seem very theraputic. So instead I'll give you some lyrics. I hope you like them.

Auf Acshe (Franzy)

You see her, you can't touch her
You hear her, you can't hold her
You want her, you can't have her

You want to, but she won't let you
You see her, you can't touch her
You hear her, you can't hold her
You want her, you can't have her
You want to, but she won't let you
She's not so special so look what you've done, boy
She's not so special so look what you've done, boy
She's not so special so look what you've done
Now you wish she'd never come back here again
Oh, never come back here again
You see her, you can't touch her
You hear her, you can't hold her
You want her, you can't have her
You want to, but she won't let you
You see her, you can't touch her
You hear her, you can't hold her
You want her, you can't have her
You want to, but she won't let you
She's not so special so look what you've done, boy
She's not so special so look what you've done, boy
She's not so special so look what you've done

All These Things That I've Done

When there's nowhere else to run
Is there room for one more son

One more son
If you can hold on
If you can hold on, hold on
I wanna stand up, I wanna let go
You know, you know - no you don't, you don't
I wanna shine on in the hearts of men
I want a meaning from the back of my broken hand
Another head aches, another heart breaks
I am so much older than I can take
And my affection, well it comes and goes
I need direction to perfection, no no no no
Help me out
Yeah, you know you got to help me out
Yeah, oh don't you put me on the back burner
You know you got to help me out
And when there's nowhere else to run
Is there room for one more son
These changes ain't changing me
The cold-hearted boy I used to be
Yeah, you know you got to help me out
Yeah, oh don't you put me on the back burner
You know you got to help me out
You're gonna bring yourself down
Yeah, you're gonna bring yourself down
Yeah, you're gonna bring yourself down
I got soul, but I'm not a soldier
I got soul, but I'm not a soldier...
Yeah, you know you got to help me out
Yeah, oh don't you put me on the back burner
You know you got to help me out
You're gonna bring yourself down
You're gonna bring yourself down
Yeah, oh don't you put me on the back burner
Yeah, you're gonna bring yourself down
Over and in, last call for sin
While everyone's lost, the battle is won
With all these things that I've done
All these things that I've done
If you can hold on
If you can hold on

If you've ever heard either of these songs, you know how they're suppose to go. If you havne't you really should. Both are ab-fab and definatly should be listned to. Well I'm off to go read "Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency" by the all powerful Douglas Adams. I swear, the man is a genius. At least, I really like him. Anyway toodles...

Fail Safe

Oy gravy. I gots a canker sour right between my bottom row of teeth and my bottom lip, like down in the valley area. Hurts like a mofo too. Yaargh!
:does little happy dance thing: FOUR KICKS!!! Love that song to death.
Guess what? No you actually have to guess...:waits:. I'm going to see the Killers at Merriweather Post Pavillion June 8. I'm tres, tres excited. And then July, I'm hoping to see t'Chiefs at the 9:30 club. I so want to see them live. Finally in August I get to see el Ben Folds once again at Wolftrap. I'm just happier than a clam. Except for this damn canker sour.
In other news, my chem teacher is the nicest person to ever walk the earth. I swear, she's just so sweet. And ya know what else? Annie gave me a hug. I mos def need hugs these days. I felt very appreciated.
Oy gravy boats, this damn canker sour is the devil. Speaking of devils, Mr. Million said something funny today in class:

"Charles Manson makes Osama bin Laden look like an angel. That man is the devil incarnate"

Excepts, nobody in class knows who Charles Manson is, and my knowledge of the man is sketchy at best. I mean other than the fact that he got inspiration from the White Album. And that he's crazy. Nonetheless, it was quite funny.
Ya know whats a good boovie? Fail Safe. Sad, but a very good movie. Everyone go see it!! Culture thyself!! I'll go listen to the Zutons, since I've already seen the movie. Adios!
{p.s. If you're in a crazy mood, watch Dr. Strangelove, it's kinda the same thing as Fail Safe. Except w/o Henry Fonda. And the astronaut dude from I Dream of Genie. Still pretty close...}
Ooooh one other thing, do y'all like my layout? I like it...I'm really gone now, I swear...
