I feel fine...

I feel fine, I think I'll go for a walk now. :Falls over: Damn vicodine. Ah but at least it makes my mouth not hurt.
I gots my wisdom teeth out yesterday. I'm now 4x stupider (hohoho.) I'll tell ya one thing. Numb chins are a real pain. I couldn't tell what I was doing when I was sipping my chocolate milk. I was quite worried that I was slopping all over myself. Thankfully I wasn't. So do ya want to here my wisdom teeth surgery story? It's really interesting!
So I went in really, really nervous. I didn't want to do it at all. But I didn't really have a choice. So I was proped up in this dentist chair. The nice assistant person put three monitors on me and then this white cover sheet. Then the knock out person came and put an oxygen thing up my nose, which wasn't very comfortable. Then Dr Bonnaci (or however you spell his name) stuck a thing in my hand and commented on the fact that I have small veins. After el doctero stuck the needle in my hand the knock out guy told me to take some deep breathes through my nose. Then I woke up. The funny thing is after surgeries they always put a blanket over you. I guess it's nice in a way. Just something funny.
So there's my story. I spent the rest of the day in mum's bed sleeping and drinking chocolate milk. After Gilmore Girls I got a milkshake, which was really good. Took another vicodine, checked stuff on my computer, fell asleep. All in all a pretty okay day. Didn't sleep well. Woke up with a great pain in my mouth, after the vicodine and ibprofen wore off. Had some weird thoughts about the whole matter. Noticed that my face was swelling up. Thought that if lied on the opposite side of the swelling, said swelling would stop. Not so much.
Ya know whats good? Scrambled eggs with cheese. :nods: That and ice cream. :nods: Sigh. Thats it kiddies. Have a good time doing stuff.

Holy Diet Coke!

I'm updating two days in a row!! Shock and awe. I felt I owed it to you guys to actually say something about the last month or so. Now it's kind of late, and for me it's rather hard to describe but I'll try. Hmm lets see...
Well my last real entry said that the summer has started off badly. It kinda went down hill from there, but it's not too horrible now. Actually that first week was probably the worst. The after shock of my report card always makes Mum go crazy. Dad was switching law offices, so he's been pretty much out of the whole thing. Which is good in a way. Dad is always worse than Mum. Cold silence is much worse than yelling any day of the week in my book. Anyway, the only way I made it through the week was distracting myself with clarinet camp (which I'll get to) and listening to Keane. Mostly Keane anyway. I've been branching out. Ya know Maximo Park, Hot Hot Heat, Keane. A large percentage Keane. I made it through the worst, like I always do, and have survived to tell the tale. Like I always do.
Now Clarinet Camp. I've decided that I never, ever want to be a professional clarinet player. Nor do I want to go to a music school. Really I would just like to avoid having anything to do with professional playing at all. I don't have the heart. And I really don't want to socialize with the people who do. I've decided that even teachers are either flakes, space cadets or control freaks. Nothing else between the head. No intellect, no curiousity. Oh just nothing I can connect with. I have the love of music to take me through the next two years, but I don't have the passion to make it through the next 6 years. Maybe the only thing that could get me to keep with this through college is if I could find the weirdos. The weirdos would make the others bareable. Oh yes. Oh! One thing. If anyone goes to VCU and knows Dr. West, I'm sorry for the following comment. God what a fucking dick. I totally fucked up the last part of our last piece. I didn't come in at the beginning (no thanks to the 13 bar rest) and Dr. West got me in just in time for my last solo. So when he comes to say hi, no "good job on the solos." No he goes right in the for the kill. I was sweating like a dog and felt horrible. Thanks Dr. West for your fake enthusazem. Really the people I most appreciated weren't the dick who was conducting (though I was thankful for his cues) but the two people sitting right next to me.
Dr. Brian Jones is a bit of an oddball. Different sense of humor than most people, but something I appreciate. He plays bass clarinet, and I'm not even going to go in to my impression of him from last year. Totally false. Anyway, he was sitting next to me the whole time. In my first solo I was so freaked out that I didn't notice anything strange. Mums and Sophs says he was smiling, which was nice. No it wasn't until my second solo that I noticed something. He was softly clapping on his leg. The guy was clapping for me. The only people who have ever appreciated my playing and said so are Ms. Blum, my mom and Judy (in a way.) The fact that some guy who didn't know me, who teaches far more talented students was clapping for me, god it just made my night.
So other than totally messing the fugue, the finale concert went really well. Now I get to retell the "story" all over again tomorrow for Nancy. Yay!
Hmm, lets see what else. Mums took my internet card away, but it isn't a punishment. It's get me to try and control how much time I spend online. Since then I've slept a lot, tried to get my score in spider solitare under 1190 and read a book. The book is my proudest accomplishment. Julian Barnes, just fyi, is a really great author. Kinda like Douglas Adams (GO READ HITCHHIKER'S) but more serious. And not sci-fi/fantasy oriented. More "mature." Right now I'm reading "Talking it Over." I read "The History of the World in 10 1/2 Chapters" in a day in a half (ah the irony.) I don't think I'll finish this one quite so fast. Anyway if you've read everything fiction work by Douglas Adams (GO READ HITCHHIKER'S) you should give Julian Barnes.
Hmm...Nothing else to report. I'm going to be doing a survey course of Pre-Calc. There is news concerning a couple of classes I'm taking next year, but I really don't want to go over that again. Very uncomfortable. Just happy I'm not taking french next year. So anywho, not much else to report. Will try to give better reports. Will really try hard to give a better report on t'Chiefs concert (2 weeks 2 days). Like actually tell you about it, which I didn't really do with the Killers/Keane concert. I will try. Goodnight, goodnight...(goes off into a song.)

I'm Back

I've decided that I'm either going to gain a lot of weight or wear a burka so as boys will not stare at me. Especially dumb jerk boys (who live across the street.) I decided this very recently and plan to implement it as soon as I get some money and good place to stash chocolate and the like so the dogs and my mother can't find it.
Uh. This summer is starting off badly. Of course I haven't had a summer that hasn't started off badly since 6th grade. Thankfully I passed all my classes so there won't be any summer school for me!! I am taking a summer course, but thats much different. Thats a choice, not obligation thing. Anyway, I'm going into a meeting tomorrow were I will try not to bash my counselor's head in or the history teacher's head. I hope it won't be to painful and I hope that Mr. Million will not be present. I don't think I could take it if Mr. Million were there. But the meeting will have a happy ending and hopefully will be short. If it isn't I will seriously consider marching out of the room in a very huffy manner.
Lets see, what have you missed? Well since I haven't update since the 13th quite a bit. I've become totally obsessed with Keane, know all the lyrics (amazingly enough) and think Tom Chaplin has the sweetest most wonderful smile ever. Also...I got invited to a party I didn't go to because I had been crying since 8:30 in the morning. I had a horrible last day of school, just horrible. Ugh.
I've been making myself feel better with Keane. I think all of you should go listen to them. Bon nuit mes amies!!

Concert

Fun from start to finish

If there was one lesson to be learned Wednesday night at Merriweather Post Pavilion, it was that nice guys — sensitive guys who probably weren’t the coolest in high school, the kind who love their mothers — sometimes finish first.

Members of the English trio Keane are definitely those guys. Touted as openers for the keyboard-infused quartet the Killers, Keane managed to steal the show from perhaps one of the hottest American rock acts currently on tour — and all without a guitar.

The Killers arrived on a luxuriously curtained and blood-red stage looking as though they’d walked right out of their hometown of Las Vegas. They opened with “Jenny Was a Friend of Mine,” the first song from their 2004 debut release, “Hot Fuss.” The foursome — propelled onto the charts last year with their hits “Somebody Told Me” and “Mr. Brightside” — are part of the brigade of “the” bands (the Vines, the White Stripes, the Strokes), which, generally, are known for resurrecting the sounds of yesteryear.

In the Killers’ case, it’s a provocative mix of 1980s synthesizers and light punk with songs that tell dark Vegas stories about equally dark (but fun and mostly jealous) characters with names such as Natalie, Andy and, of course, Jenny.

Their performance was clearly focused on singer-keyboardist Brandon Flowers — decked out in his trademark black eyeliner and the skinniest pants this side of the Mason-Dixon Line — who came at the crowd with a strong voice and plenty of operatic arm swoops, but not much more.

Words for the crowd were few and far between, and so were surprises — save for a B-side, a new song and Mr. Flowers’ sudden playful tackle of guitarist David Keuning. The earnest and very personable Keane was a tough act for any band to follow, but theKillers’ larger-than-life, blinking-lights performance somehow didn’t quite meet expectations.

Their thousands of fans couldn’t have cared less. The quartet jumped into “Somebody Told Me” early into their set, and within moments, the entire pavilion was singing “You had a boyfriend/Who looks like a girlfriend/That I had in February of last year.”

“Mr. Brightside” was the band’s final song before the encore, and it had many in the crowd speeding back to their seats or their spot on the lawn (beer spilling and nachos flying) to sing along. All in all, a fun show — but maybe they should have opened for Keane.

:claps hands: Yay!! Someone else remembered the concert!!
So what if Brandon isn't personable? So what if the first thing that comes to mind is some Tom (of Keane) said? Plus, the people who left are dorks who don't understand what an encore is. :rolls eyes: Does it help that I love both bands almost equally? Anyway it doesn't really matter if Brandon barely smiled, for me the fact that he was there. And hot. So yeah....have fun!!
Much thanks to TKO (The Killers Online) for posting the article. Tres bien.

Concert=daze

I will begin by saying the concert was absolutly fucking fantastic. It was more than that, but quite frankly my vocabulary seems to disappear when I start to think about the concert. For those of you who have been to a/some rock concert(s) I think you know what I mean. :nods: My fucking god it was awsome. And Brandon was super-duper hot. :nods: :smiles:
KEANE!!!! I (finally) got their cd. They were one of four opening acts, and I just went crazy when I heard them. So on thursday I got their cd. And I have the chorus for the 3 of the first 4 songs stuck in my head currently. They are so totally awsome.
Well my sister has told me to get off so I will. I'll update later. Or some more.

Hot Hot Heat

Oh... Is it real? I don't know
But, I'll act as if it is
What's our deal? I don't know
But, I'll act as if it is what I think that it is
If it is, then this might just work*

Yay for Hot Hot Heat. They have become my new "listen to this cd on repeat 15 times in a row, can't live without it" band. Well "Elevator" has. I don't much care for their previous cd. Which I don't believe was their first, but the other might have been EPs which are different than cds for some reason. Anyway, I love "Elevator."
Two days till the Killers concert. Two days. Just a warning.
A jack-of-all-trades and a master of none
Why do I have to be bored with being foolish and young?
The show isn't over, but I'm long since gone
I feel like I let them down when I don't wanna trade my sunshine for a cloudy night^

I will convince the whole world that Douglas Adams was genius. Even if takes the rest of my life. I do mean that. Everyone will know the genius of Douglas Adams before I die. Goddamnit
Welcome to the island of the honest man
Do what you want - there is no need to impress us
Welcome to the island of the honest man
We don't believe in what the big people tell us~

*You Owe Me and IOU
^Pickin' It Up
~Island of the Honest Man
damnit...I don't have room to quote Middle of Nowhere....go listen to it!!!

Applescrufs

Apple scrufs. Claymates. Victims. Chiefs and Chiefettes. Rabid fans. Fanatics. Just a few words that describe the hopelessly devoted. We listen to every single, cling to every quote and pray that our idol(s) will come to an arena/club/theater nearby. We crave them, learn everything we can about them. I personally make it my mission to know everyone's name in the group and what instrument they play, so I will never be confused. We make up cute nicknames (at least I do) and refer to them by first name, as they're our best friends. Some mock us, but the bands ultimately appreciate us. We give them votes and money. Yes, it is sort of depressing fans have with their idols. The idols love us for our devotion, no matter how horriblly they act, no matter how crappy their music gets, and we love them in turn for breathing, smiling, singing, beating on drums etc. In the end though each camp benefits. The fans give the stars their stardom, and the fans get something to enjoy. Not a perfect relationship, but one that has been going on for decades now. I'm just glad to be a part of it.
I'm in a relatively good mood today. Wish I felt better, but then again Sundays weren't made to be wonderful days. I'm actually feeling very blah-ish, but then there hasn't been a day in the past month or so where that hasn't been true. I know I'm depressed, but it's the kind of depression I've felt for so long that it doesn't faze, doesn't feel weird. It's my reaction to stress. I'm glad though that I'm not at Stu. Somehow I think things would be worse if I weren't here. I know for a fact I'd be eating a pizza right now, all by myself thank you very much. I won't look back, I know I can't. I don't have the energy to save anyone anymore. I'm using all my extra energy trying to save myself and I don't think I'm doing a very good job of it. I'm starting to ramble so I'll move on.
I've applied for my first job. I applied to be a sales clerk at Books-A-Million today. The nice cashier guy said he would give it to the manager and that I'd here from him in a few days. The place was pratically deserted, but then again it is Memorial Day weekend. Maybe its busier during the week. Anyway, I'm very excited and I really, really, hope I get hired. Wish me luck mes copains!!

Happy Endings

Leaning against the window watching the rain, feeling happy, knowing I'll be home in a few hours. {8th grade trip}
Watching a slightly fuzzy image play across the TV making music I didn't think could be made. {Watching Mr. Brightside for the first time}
Squeeling in utter delight as he smiles from the screen. {Watching Help! for the first time in years}
Clapping "off" beat, pissing my sister off. {The Ben Folds concert I went to last year}
Singing with the chorus for my final time, knowing that I can't really cry. {End of the performance at the end of 9th grade}
Wondering what these goofs were sayingover the PA system as I walk around the shop, CD in hand. {First time I heard Kaiser Chiefs over spring break}
Rediscovering the magic that had enchanted me all those years ago. {Listening to the Beatles}
Singing as loudly as I can to ward off all my pain, knowing it won't work, but I'll be damned if every last person won't be able to hear me. {8th and 9th grade}
Annoying Avery with my singing, even if she won't admit that she can hear me. {8th grade}
Critiqueing every singer I've ever heard, secretly knowing that only 2 people can sing better than me.
Jumping octaves when the guys go to low, or the girls go to high.
Cursing my second soprano/alto range.
Learning lyrics as fast as I can so I can sing along, showing off the pipes that God gave me.
Creating whole scenes from songs that I love, and wondering if anyone else could understand them. {9th grade and summer before 10th grade}
Wondering why people didn't love this stuff as much as I do.
Singing for my happy ending.
{These are the memories I think of when I listen to songs. The things that flash through my head as this year draws to a close. I have a month and a day left in this school year. Normally around this time I would be a description of each of my classes, thinking of songs to dedicate to the year. I think I'll do that later though. I don't want to jinx what little luck I might have left by ending the year to quickly. I've just been thinking about this stuff. I've been very contemplative recently. I suppose it's because thats how I am when I'm depressed. I slink into the back of my mind and think of all the things that have passed. This is just my way of letting you into my twisted brain. I put {} around specific memories. Some of what I've written I still do. Some of it is still true. But now I have one last thing to give you. They're two lyrics set in between a play. The songs are soulmates, the play their "father." I hope you appreciate the connection as much as I did this morning as I was washing dishes. And keep in mind that this how my brain works. Random connections that actually make sense.}

Shangri-la{r as Ray Davies sings}
Now that you've found your paradise
This is your Kingdom to command
You can go outside and polish your car
Or sit by the fire in your Shangri-la
Here is your reward for working so hard
Gone are the lavatories in the back yard
Gone are the days when you dreamed of that car
You just want to sit in your Shangri-la

Put on your slippers and sit by the fire
You've reached your top and you just can't get any higher
You're in your place and you know where you are
In your Shangri-la
Sit back in your old rocking chair
You need not worry, you need not care
You can't go anywhere
Shangri-la, Shangri-la, Shangri-la

The little man who gets the train
Got a mortgage hanging over his head
But he's too scared to complain
'Cos he's conditioned that way
Time goes by and he pays off his debts
Got a TV set and a radio
For seven shillings a week
Shangri-la, Shangri-la, Shangri-la, Shangri-la, Shangri-la, Shangri-la

And all the houses in the street have got a name
'Cos all the houses in the street they look the same
Same chimney pots, same little cars, same window panes
The neighbors call to tell you things that you should know
They say their lines, they drink their tea, and then they go
They tell your business in another Shangri-la
The gas bills and the water rates, and payments on the car
Too scared to think about how insecure you are
Life ain't so happy in your little Shangri-la
Shangri-la, Shangri-la la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la

Put on your slippers and sit by the fire
You've reached your top and you just can't get any higher
You're in your place and you know where you are
In your Shangri-la
Sit back in your old rocking chair
You need not worry, you need not care
You can't go anywhere
Shangri-la, Shangri-la, Shangri-la, Shangri-la, Shangri-la, Shangri-la

Death of a Salesmen

Jingle Jangle

Watch your children around the abandoned well
Don't ask me to tell if they slipped and fell
I'm just a salesman with my suitcase in hand
And the perfect plan that should pull me out

Another day, another night, another year
Another smile, another lie, another tear
This better not be all I got
I never thought I'd end up here

Jingle jangle that's the sound of coins
Spent on useless toys made for useless boys
I'm just a salesman with my suitcase in hand
There's a piece of land that I got my eye on

Another day, another night, another year
Another smile, another lie, another tear
This better not be all I got
I never thought I'd end up here

Friday night I'll raise my glass and say
"Tomorrow things will change! I can't afford to wait."
But by Monday morning my alarm clock knows
How this story goes and the ending's the same as the start

Another day, another night, another year
Another smile, another lie, another tear
This better not be all I got
I never thought I'd end up here

Another day, another night, another year
Another smile, another lie, another tear
This better not be all I got
I never thought I'd end up here

Watch your children around the abandoned well
Don't ask me to tell if they slipped and fell
I'm just a salesman with my suitcase in hand
And the perfect plan that I'm working on

20.5.05

3 Months vs. 2 weeks

It has been almost since I first heard the Killers. So it's been about 2 and half months since my complete dissent into popculture. God thats fucking scary.
I have almost a month left of school. Thats full weeks, not school weeks. And that sum includes the days I have off, as well as exam week. Stu on the other hand has about 10 days left. Mind you, I wish I had hell of a lot longer left in the school. I just don't know if I'm ready to be junior. I mean I was ready to be a freshmen, ready to be a sophmore, but I don't think I'm ready to be junior. I can't imagine being an "upperclassmen." I don't see myself as one of those people. Upperclassmen are cool, they have style, they know everything there is to know about all things popular. I don't know anything! I'm the biggest dork around. I'm not ready for that responsibility. I can barely handle the stresses of this year. I'm just scared shitless by it all.
Since I know Liz doesn't read this journal, I think I'll just mention now that I'm cutting any ties I had with her. She's changed into someone I don't want to be around. I can't really call her a slut, because thats not what she is. Liz is just someone I don't want to know anymore. Ah well.
toodles......

15.5.05

Urrr

Urrrrrrrrr. I'm absolutly stuffed. I had the big ass burger for dinner, like 3 diet cokes and then I had a huge piece of mudd cake (bourbon, coffee, chocolate) and a cup of coffee. So not only am I super stuffed, but I won't be able to sleep for a good long time unfortunatly.
But in other news, Sophs has got me hooked on Hot Hot Heat. It's kinda like when I got hooked on the Killers. I keep trying to listen to something else, but I invarably start listening to Hot Hot Heat again. Mind when their first CD came out I constantly made fun of them for their name. Which is kinda ironic, because I'm fairely sure I completely disregarded Franzie too, and now I absolutly love them. But their new CD (Elevator for those of you who don't know, like me) is so addictive. I just want to listen and listen and listen and...well I think you get the point. They're so like the Kinks. I mean, they have the peppy up beat sound and tunes, but if you read the lyrics, my god. So cynical!! But thats the sort of thing that I love. I love cynical happiness. So anyway, I'm really, totally, and utterly addicted.
Uuuuuuuuuhhhhhh. So full. I'm actually kind of tired too.
So have a good week. I don't if I'll be able to update. I got reading to do, and I don't plan on updating. :smiles: Yeah.
:huggles Hot Hot Heat, Avers, and Liz:

Lyrics

God I haven't done an entry like this in forever. I try to stay away from posting lyrics, but today I felt like posting a couple of songs because I want y'all to know I'm here and alive, but I don't really want to say anything. My life is so hectic right now and I'm under so much stress these days, that I don't want to write. Some how it just doesn't seem very theraputic. So instead I'll give you some lyrics. I hope you like them.

Auf Acshe (Franzy)

You see her, you can't touch her
You hear her, you can't hold her
You want her, you can't have her

You want to, but she won't let you
You see her, you can't touch her
You hear her, you can't hold her
You want her, you can't have her
You want to, but she won't let you
She's not so special so look what you've done, boy
She's not so special so look what you've done, boy
She's not so special so look what you've done
Now you wish she'd never come back here again
Oh, never come back here again
You see her, you can't touch her
You hear her, you can't hold her
You want her, you can't have her
You want to, but she won't let you
You see her, you can't touch her
You hear her, you can't hold her
You want her, you can't have her
You want to, but she won't let you
She's not so special so look what you've done, boy
She's not so special so look what you've done, boy
She's not so special so look what you've done

All These Things That I've Done

When there's nowhere else to run
Is there room for one more son

One more son
If you can hold on
If you can hold on, hold on
I wanna stand up, I wanna let go
You know, you know - no you don't, you don't
I wanna shine on in the hearts of men
I want a meaning from the back of my broken hand
Another head aches, another heart breaks
I am so much older than I can take
And my affection, well it comes and goes
I need direction to perfection, no no no no
Help me out
Yeah, you know you got to help me out
Yeah, oh don't you put me on the back burner
You know you got to help me out
And when there's nowhere else to run
Is there room for one more son
These changes ain't changing me
The cold-hearted boy I used to be
Yeah, you know you got to help me out
Yeah, oh don't you put me on the back burner
You know you got to help me out
You're gonna bring yourself down
Yeah, you're gonna bring yourself down
Yeah, you're gonna bring yourself down
I got soul, but I'm not a soldier
I got soul, but I'm not a soldier...
Yeah, you know you got to help me out
Yeah, oh don't you put me on the back burner
You know you got to help me out
You're gonna bring yourself down
You're gonna bring yourself down
Yeah, oh don't you put me on the back burner
Yeah, you're gonna bring yourself down
Over and in, last call for sin
While everyone's lost, the battle is won
With all these things that I've done
All these things that I've done
If you can hold on
If you can hold on

If you've ever heard either of these songs, you know how they're suppose to go. If you havne't you really should. Both are ab-fab and definatly should be listned to. Well I'm off to go read "Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency" by the all powerful Douglas Adams. I swear, the man is a genius. At least, I really like him. Anyway toodles...

Fail Safe

Oy gravy. I gots a canker sour right between my bottom row of teeth and my bottom lip, like down in the valley area. Hurts like a mofo too. Yaargh!
:does little happy dance thing: FOUR KICKS!!! Love that song to death.
Guess what? No you actually have to guess...:waits:. I'm going to see the Killers at Merriweather Post Pavillion June 8. I'm tres, tres excited. And then July, I'm hoping to see t'Chiefs at the 9:30 club. I so want to see them live. Finally in August I get to see el Ben Folds once again at Wolftrap. I'm just happier than a clam. Except for this damn canker sour.
In other news, my chem teacher is the nicest person to ever walk the earth. I swear, she's just so sweet. And ya know what else? Annie gave me a hug. I mos def need hugs these days. I felt very appreciated.
Oy gravy boats, this damn canker sour is the devil. Speaking of devils, Mr. Million said something funny today in class:

"Charles Manson makes Osama bin Laden look like an angel. That man is the devil incarnate"

Excepts, nobody in class knows who Charles Manson is, and my knowledge of the man is sketchy at best. I mean other than the fact that he got inspiration from the White Album. And that he's crazy. Nonetheless, it was quite funny.
Ya know whats a good boovie? Fail Safe. Sad, but a very good movie. Everyone go see it!! Culture thyself!! I'll go listen to the Zutons, since I've already seen the movie. Adios!
{p.s. If you're in a crazy mood, watch Dr. Strangelove, it's kinda the same thing as Fail Safe. Except w/o Henry Fonda. And the astronaut dude from I Dream of Genie. Still pretty close...}
Ooooh one other thing, do y'all like my layout? I like it...I'm really gone now, I swear...

I hate California waiting! Every little thing has gotta be
just right!
Say, why you tryin' to save me? Can't I get back my lonely
life?

God I love that song. I love Kings of Leon. And the Zutons. I just wanted to show I was alive. Not that I really feel alive, but ya know, I'm breathing and everything. So yeah.

Boo!

Did I scare you? God I hope not. That would be kind of sad. But yeah, I'm still alive.
The reason I haven't been updating is because I've been busy. And my parents took my internet card. Which means I have to "invent" reasons to be on the main computer. It's not that hard, since I have a paper due in chem on the 13th, and I've had other things that need to be typed up in chem and french. But ya know that can only last so long.
I've been invited to have lunch with Monica and her latina crew. I'm scared shitless which is why I'm glad I have Farber on Monday. Talk to him about it. I just know he'll be thrilled. So what if it's almost the end of the year? I'm finally having lunch with people. Of course this means I won't be in the library, so thats another internet outlit taken away. Ah well. I guess it won't be that bad. Monica can do all the talking!
Oh I have fallen for Ricky. Well fallen is quite the correct term. What I mean is I've been become a fangirl. Again. But this is a different person. Brandon still makes me squeal like a stuck pig, but now Ricky also makes me smile like an insane person on drugs. Isn't that great imagery? Anyway, it's rather sad. I'm just glad livejournal is around. :nods:
I went to the high school production of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. I must say it was absolutely fabulous. Michelle was to die for. Marshall was quite the drunk (despite the fact that he's Morman.) I wrote comments on my program, but really the only thing I have to say is wow. Mucho improvement from Anasazi. Like 1000x times better. Bravo theater department, bravo!!!
Oh what else? Oh! Stu's musical opens this weekend. Which means I won't be able to go. :cries: I want to go, I just can't. Can't miss school. I could go on Saturday. :thinks: Uuuuuuuuuuuuggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm off to bed my dearies. Have a good week or so!

This is fake DIY

:acts crazy: Who said sanity was the best thing?? Huh????
Fuckity-fuck. I still haven't told mums and dad about the grades. Dr. Farber would be upset, or at least disappointed. I'm personally trying to stay happy. Shits to telling about grades. I want to enjoy my weekend as much as possible before everything goes boom. And let me tell you, everything will go boom. Like an atomic boom, no TNT woosy shit. No this will be the biggest boom yet. Oh yes I do predict. So now I'm going to enjoy my weekend. Or at least try and enjoy it as much as I can.
So update on solos and ensembles. I got a 1 on my solo (which is uber awsome) and I don't know what I got on the quartet. I thnk we did pretty well. I fucked up a lot, but the group in general did really well. Umm yeah. So yay!
Go listen to Fake DIY. Best online radio ever. Yeah. Shower time!

Band

No, no I don't mean school band. Why would I want to write a post about that. :gaugh: No I'm writing about how hyper I am. God I am hyper.
Actually I'm going to now shamelessly plug some really awsome sites:
http://www.kaiser-chief.net
http://www.fan-sites.org/ricky/
http://www.thekillersonline.net/
That's it. I'm going to iron my blouse now. Bye!!

Update

Let this week be over, let this week be over (repeat about 20 more times. )
I had the coolest thing happen to me today. A friend of mine, who had lost touch with (shocker) somehow found me through Livejournal. It was really nice to hear from her actually. She's probably the only person at Stu who has the same sense of humor as me, and was my bestest friend in 8th grade. Plus Avery is just a really cool person. Has more guts than I ever will. :nods: Makes me want to update my Lj, kinda. Yeah maybe.
God I can't wait till Thursday night. Killers on Jay Leno. Makes a girl happy.
I don't know whether I've mentioned this before, I'm sure I haven't, but I go through depressive cylcles. :nods: So lately I've been off and on when it comes to my emotions. Essentially I'm "okay" but teetering towards depressed. The thing is I'm really good at faking it. I've been having these cycles since 7th grade, so I guess I've gotten good at it. Anyway, thats part of the reason I haven't been updating a lot. It's hard for me to articulate my emotions when I'm depressed and since most of this quarter I have been depressed, thats basically 2 months of not really being able to update a lot. I'm sorry for that, because I have a lot of stuff I want to say, I just don't know how to.
Sorry for this heavy stuff. I just thought you might like to know. Cuz I know I have a million readers. Hahahahaha. Ah the good times.
Wish me luck on Saturday at 3:56 pm (eastern daylight savings time) and 2:12pm. I'm doing the Solos and Ensembles thing at those times, and the 3rd movement needs all the luck it can get. So wish especially hard at 3:56, cuz thats when my quartet is performing and thats when the 3rd movement might mess everything up. I'm confident about my solo, but the ensemble needs luck, a lot.
So yeah. Thats it.

Music is suppose to be a release. Sure it started out religiously, but it eventually became something to entertain the masses. To me music is about love and heartache or completely random subjects like beer and animals. Music says something about who was listening to it, or who is listening to it. Music is suppose to speak to the people, lift them out their dreary lives. It's not that I don't appreciate protest songs, or the punk rock movement, it's just thats not what music is suppose to be. Somewhere in the 60's music got twisted around and become this political machine, in some cases at least. Instead of getting people away from the horrors they were seeing on TV, a lot of popular was a reminder of just how sucky the world was. After that the punksters started saying the same thing. Life sucks and then you die. Of course there has always been music that is about love, heartache and random shit. But just how much of that has survived, and not been ridiculed? Not much, not much at all. I mean disco is a perfect example. Supposedly all disco is crap. I think not! Disco is a release, and to me thats the point of music.
I suppose I could never be a punk-rocker. I'm more of pop-rock/rock person. I just don't want to be constantly reminded of how sucky life is. The only exception I can think of are The Kinks, but they appeal more to my cynical side than my depressive side. Music for me is an escape from deadlines, tests, practice, and my lack-there-of, of a social life. Why then would I want to listen to Green Day bitch and moan about the current state of the populous? Sure I understand the need for their kind of music, but I don't have to listen to it right? Someone (in the case of Green Day lots of people) will listen to them and appreciate what they have to say. I own American Idiot. I've listened to it a couple of times, I have some favorites. But now I won't listen to it all the way through. I would rather just listen to the couple of songs that really don't say anything political, that are about (you fill in the blank, I believe in you.)
Of course when I say heartache and I don't mean bitching. Because honestly hearing another pretty boy complaining about his recent break up from the "love of my life" makes me sick. No when I think of heartbreak and heartache I think of the Motown hits from the early 60's, R&B greats, that sort of thing. Mmm Motown.
Anyway, I think I've considerably expanded my view on music. Hell I'm listening to Hem right now. Damn fine. Just remember kids: Music is a release, an escape. Kinda like trashy TV, but better.
