The Long and Winding Road to Pictures
So, after typing in the url for Lily Allen's site one too many times I decided to add the link to my "1 Site Bands" folder. Now I can be lazy when I want to listen to her music! So anyway, while I was listening to her music I was looking around the site, looking at the various pictures and other such things. Which is when I discovered these pictures. Ms. Allen certainly has a style of her own, one which I'm not going to be copying any time soon. After looking at some of the pictures, I noticed that the gallery was alphabetized and so thought to myself "Mayhaps this photographer will have pictures of Kaiser Chiefs. I know they've been to Paris before." So I scrolled down and did in fact find Kaiser Chief photos. Positively thrilled was I, especially since the majority of them are of R. So, having noticed that right below KC were pics of Kasabian, I looked through some of those which was when I discovered that there were dates. So I went back to the Kaiser Chief photos and discovered that these photos are from their first show in their first tour in support of their yet to be released second album. I was even more thrilled by this than I was by simply finding them. Unfortch I was cleaning my room so I haven't gotten a chance to write about any of this until now. So go look at all the lovely photos. I'm going to finish practicing my clarinet.

Hot Friday Five
At the moment I'm listening to Hot Club de Paris who are a fabulous British band. Hence the "hot" in the title of this entry. Anyway...onto the Friday Five! Some of this answers are highly predictable. And by highly predictable, I mean really fucking obvious. Onwards and upwards!
1) If you had to move 100 miles or more to the north, east, west, or south, which would you choose, where would you end up, and what's so great about there?
:thinks very hard: LONDON!!!!!! LONDON, LONDON, LONDON, LONDON!!!! And if you have to ask what's so great about London, then you haven't been paying attention. Because everything about London is great. E-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g. :smiles:
2) Do you have a favorite stretch of highway or byway for driving, touring, or wandering?
My personal favourite place to go driving is I-81 because it's so amazingly tranquil and the scenery is gorgeous. And it's incredibly straight. :nods: 81 is my interstate highway.
3) Are you happier to start a trip or return home?
I get excited about going on trips but then I get really excited about going home. So, I'm happier with both. Most of the middle of trips are only so, so. This is mainly because I have to be highly social which I loathe and despise. So yeah...I like starting and ending trips.
4) Plane, train, automobile, bicycle, or foot?
Train, mos def. Cars are too cramped, as are planes, which also smell. Bicycle is just asking for trouble and does foot. So yeah, I love trains. They're perfect. Not too cramped (for the most part) and they don't smell funny in the same way that planes do. Also, you can see all the scenery that is there to see. Besides there's a band called i LiKE TRAiNS.
5) Do you overplan or underplan your travels? (Assume that "no" is not a valid answer.)
No. :giggles: I'm so evil. I don't normally plan my travels, so I can't really say.
That's it. See ya laters.

MG!!
:sigh: So I discovered Weebl and Bob through a guy I knew at Stu/possibly Avers. In any event I love them because it's all about pie and it's british and...it's really fuckin' hi-larious. Definantly would highly recommend anything on the the weebl stuff site. Tis very funny overall. Especially the series having to do with the moon. In any event, the point is Weebl and Bob. They're obsessed with pie. Mmmmm, pie. They've had many adventures, but this latest one...oh it tops them all. Because it takes and popular song and makes it into a song about PIE!! Yes, I know. Weebl and Bob are bringing pie back. Just like some other dip is trying to bring sexy back. Me? I'm bringing nothing back. Go watch!!!
In other news, I have some recommendations:
Lily Allen!! All you have to do is click the little track titled "Littlest Things" and it will start playing all the wonderful music available to you on the little...music thing. Take a listen. Personally, I can't stop. She's brilliant, ace, and lots of other good things. All the songs are also brilliant, ace, and lots of other good things. Too bad you can't here "Alfie." That's my personal favourite. Oh well. Go listen to the other tracks.
Actually that's it...I know lame. So without further ado, here's a lovely picture drawn by a friend of mine. She has titled it "Thing 8" so I shall do the same. Here's "Thing 8"

I personally like the tongue thing. Night y'all.

:grins:
:manic grin: I'm not crazy...honest. :continues the scary grin:
Some other pictures of R to cleanse the pallet. :manic grin: They're from Iceland. :rocks back and forth: How can a person go from this to this, this, or this in any amount of time? Wait...or the reversal actually. Men are strange!! I'm going to go check on baked ziti. Have a nice night.

Today in a Numerical List
- I voted. I'm very proud of myself for not really screwing up the whole thing. I have the little sticker and everything to prove that I voted. So yeah...I voted!!!
- I interviewed at Hollins and was repeatedly told by my admissions counselor how glad she was that I came back. Hollins is still Hollins. I saw the music building. :nods: Is it horrible that I still really want to go to Mary Wash? Especially since I just called it Mary Wash instead of Mary Washington? God...I really want to go to college, but picking is too fucking hard. But yeah, the interview went well. Hollins is Hollins.
- I'm home now. I have discovered the following things: The NME yearbook is coming out sometime soon. And this picture shouldn't exists. Ya know why? 1) Ricky and beard = Nore screaming like a stuck pig and 2) I'm secretly obsessed with Dr. Who because I don't watch it so...more screaming basically. And who isn't surprised that Oasis is interviewing their proteges Kasabian? But who is surprised that the Kooks are interviewing Blondie? The correct answer for both questions would be me. Yeah...I was right when I said during my interview that I spend way too much time obsessing over the small things. God I'm a freak!! Anyway...the yearbook is coming and it's only just November. Huzzah for ignoring this month completely!!

The Pitfalls of Procrastination
So I'm about...33% done with my internal assessment. I've done the easy parts basically. The hard part is coming up, so I've started procrastinating like there's no tomorrow. See, as far as I'm concerned, the paper isn't due until Wednesday at 11:59pm and if I've got the easy bits done, I'm doing pretty well. Besides, Mar's party isn't until 6 (to which I will not be showing up on time) so I figure that's about...4 hours to finish this thing for the most part. I mean, if I get section C completely done and most of section D, I can get the rest of section D and section E done on Wednesday before the deadline. Ideally (which is what I'm aiming for) I'll get all of sections C, D, and most of section E done today so I can do the evil nit picky stuff on Wednesday or tomorrow. Really though...I've got time. I write pretty quickly when I put my mind to it. Besides, section C is really pretty easy and section E is just evil because it's the conclusion. The only really hard part is section D, which still confuses me somewhat. Ugh...at least I've finished my biblio though. The really easy parts are all done. :sigh:
So...The Blood Arm, Lily Allen, and the Young Knives are all cds that I want but can't get because they haven't been released here, as in the States. I have no idea when the Blood Arm or the Young Knives are releasing their LPs here, but I know when Lily Allen is releasing hers (February.) So, yeah. :sigh:
I'm going to do section C now. get it done. Yes. that's what I'll do. Section C. Now.

Friday Five is Back Again
So I'm doing Friday Five this week for the hell of it. Plus this week they asked stuff about music, so I have to answer.
1) What was the first CD/Record/Album/Artist you ever bought and what format was it in? (Vinyl/Cassette/CD/MP3 Download)?
I think it was B*Witched and it was a CD, though honestly I don't remember.
2) How do you usually listen to music? (iPod/Walkman/Stereo/Radio)
I usually listen either through my mp3 or Yahoo Music Jukebox
3) What is your favorite genre of music and why?
My favourite genre you say? Umm...British rock music? I guess that covers about 75% of what I listen to. Then there's the miscellaneous stuff...so yeah I guess British
rock.
4) What is your opinion on music video shows and music televion?
I like music videos because it means I get to see Ricky (or Alex and Alex or Tom and Tom or whomever) and stare longingly at him (not true for Alex and Alex or Tom, though true for the other Tom) {bonus points if you can figure out who the hell I'm talking about}
5) Do you usually agree with who the winners of the Grammy Awards are?
No. :shrugs: They don't nominate enough good (aka my) music. It's mostly crap. But maybe that's because I only listen to indie...hmmm.
Tom and Tom and Alex and Alex. 1 Ricky, 1 Michael, 1 Keith, 1 Damian. Oh it's so fun knowing the first names of all the lead singers of my favourite bands. Such joy.

An Annotated Email from Kaiser Chiefs
Hello Everyone
Time for a word in your ears (or inboxes) We hope you've been keeping well. Our new album is recorded, we're mixing in London at the moment. Nick spoke to Billboard last week about things. Here's that interview. [yes the hyperlinks don't work, but don't worry, it doesn't really matter]
So what's there to talk about...The recent past.
We had an ace time in Iceland at Airwaves. We would and will recommend Iceland to anyone, apart from the cost of everything, it's one of the best places we've ever been. Thanks to all of you who travelled, particularly if you came halfway across the world, like those of you from Japan [lucky sons of bitches who have far too much time on their hands]. It was great to play live again, apologies for the non-deliberate mistakes, we'd not played for 8 weeks [umm...]! The day after the show, we went for a trip to the Blue Lagoon with The Cribs. Slightly surreal, but pictures of us all in our swimming gear are now out there... somewhere [WHERE!?! I want to see!!!].
Now the present: At the moment we're spending our time between rehearsing for the European shows and mixing the Album [grrr...]with Stephen Street and Cenzo Townsend in London. Last week we rolled up to The Good, The Bad & the Queen at BBC Electric Proms, which we all thought was ace & we met Paul Simenon which was brilliant.
Next: See you in Europe, the dates are below, they start next week in Paris. They're Sold Out, apart from Milan and Greece which have only just gone on sale (and Transmusicales is a Festival). We've got great supports along for the ride, The Pigeon Detectives in Paris, Antwerp, Utrecht, Amsterdam, Madrid and Milan - their single 'Found Out' is out on Nov 6th. Go and buy it [I would if I could]...it's brilliant and is Zane Lowe's Record Of The Week on Radio 1 this week. We've got Mumm-Ra [mum who?]with us in Germany for shows in Berlin and Munich - their debut single 'Out Of The Question' has just been released. Joining us for our show in Copenhagen are Danes Figurines and finally CCS (Cansei De Ser Sexy for those of you that speak Brazilian) [except it's not Brazilian it's Portguese, since there's no such thing as Brazilian] will be playing with us at Transmusicales Festival in Rennes, France on Dec 9th
We've also finally got our MySpace site to run ourselves [NOOO!!!]. It's been announced on the main site but there's some new old songs up there, live versions of Hits basically. Go on be our friend and all that. Our MySpace and Website will be getting brought up to date over the next couple of months as well. In fact we'll have a brand new website, and will be getting far more involved in our MySpace site ourselves with exclusive 'making of the album' films and video diaries from the Road [damn you, I hate myspace, you, you...people].
In January we'll be back in USA [got all excited], details to come, but we'll be playing a few small shows, one in LA and one in New York [and probably not in DC, poops] right at the end of the month to unveil the new record. We're also planning to do the same in Japan and Australia before the end of March. Again...watch this space [what space?], details to follow.
Final thing, I expect some of you will have seen Glastonbury: The Film (directed by Julian Temple), we're dead proud that 'Na Na Na Na Naa' from Glastonbury 2005 is on the DVD. The first song from one of our favourite shows ever.

"And It Looks Like We Might Have Made It...
Yes, it looks like we've made it to the end." So says Blur, and I trust them. But anyway, tomorrow's the last day of the quarter mes copines. Yes I've some how made it through the first quarter of my senior year without dying. Huzzah! Yeah...that's the big news. End of a quarter. :nods: I need to stop paraphrasing Blur song titles. Kind of scary...
Nothing much happening. I should be working on my :curses lots and lots: Interactive notebook. :curses some more: Thank goodness I finished my socio homework during lunch/IB music. Otherwize I would be so SOL. But yeah...:curses:
Speaking of Blur...I find this sad. Can't the rest of the guys just accept that Graham doesn't want to be apart of their party anymore? And on a side note, what about all of Damon's side projects? I wunderbar.
TRACY JACKS!! I wish I could name my son that. :sigh: Yeah...I'm bored. See ya later

A Spam of Pics
Yeah, I'm uber-lazy. I should be working, but I'm not. Ya know why? Because I'm uber-lazy. I'll work after this. Honest! Anywho, felt like spamming you guys with lurvely pictas. Because I'm nice like that. And bored. Nice and bored. Besides, how else can I amuse myself?
The Requisite Ricky Section (Ricky, Ricky, Ricky...)
He's so small and blonde. Awwwwww. Oh and yes this does make me this (---) much closer to being a stalker. Mind you I didn't find the picture, but still.
Awwww. That's all I have to say. That and he has really nice nails.
Angry Rick. Ricky Smash!! At least that's what I imagine. :shakes head:
One more!! Cuz ya know it's fun!
This picture always reminds me of something Mr. Sharp use to say: "Good job Bob." Not that he ever said it to me but this pic still reminds me of it.
Other Picture Section!!! (Tom M., WAS, random poster thing, OK Go, that sort of thing)
Damian (on the right) and Tim (on the left) from OK Go. Sexy black and white. Also, notice the Franz Ferdinand poster.
Mystery Jets Tour Poster. Tis pretty.
Tom of Kasabian at the Electric Proms. It's a British thing, that I didn't get to see. And Tom looks like he's lecturing the audience or something like that. Very sexy indeed.
Amazingly enough I am all three of them combined when I'm at school. Lots of pencils, sometimes sleeping, other times studying. I am WAS!!
That's it loves. I'm going to work now!

A Much Needed Update
:sigh: So the past few weeks have been crappy. Not even kind of crappy. Just plain old crappy. I've been "working" my ass off trying to get my grades to a somewhat respectable level while also dealing with the fact that I'm a horrible procrastinator/lazy shit. Things have been so-so on that front, but I have been having a wonderful time being utterly carefree with my friends. I've also been pigging out on muffins. Mmmm tasty, tasty muffins. The school thing though, seriously, has been tough shit since my interim which was towards the beginning of the month which, needless to say, has been why I haven't been updating. Or if I update it's piddly shit like this or this or even better this. I apologize for that. I do realize that almost no one reads this, but I should be better. It makes the world go 'round ya know? Something like that. Basically (and now negating everything I've said up to this point) the first two months of school have been shit. Hopefully the next two will go better. I really need them to go better. So yeah...life sucks and then ya die right?
So...what, besides school sucking ass, has been going on? Not much actually. School and school sucking ass has been the majority of my life. Jackie's all moody and Loghman and I are on normal terms (sort of, I'll explain later.) I've been added to the inner circle of the Creative Writing class, which means I get to know about all the drama and shit that happens when I'm not around. It's actually kind of cool because I get to be all lookey-lookey at the great book of power which holds all submissions for the literary magazine and whether things have been approved or not. And Mrs. Beauchemin-Anastasio is all nicey-nice to me. All in all, Creative Writing is my zen class. Actually blue days (odd period days) are the best days. Green days (even period days) have their moments but really I enjoy blues days a whole hell of a lot better. Besides I'm not doing as crappy in those classes as I am in my green day classes. In any event, I've also become buddy-buddy with the editor (Lauren) who likes Keane and is planning on being an ex-pat. Whether it's an English ex-pat or some other country, I've yet to ascertain, but she likes Keane. She gets brownie points, mos def. Also Jasmine and I have been ridiculously silly in English which is really nice. I'll eventually upload some pictures, but lets just say...Ricky doll. :giggles to herself: All in all the social aspect of my life is pretty chill. Except for the minor drama today. Which (thank God) has been abated. So, to the drama!
Before continuing please read this. While it only minorly explains the drama of last spring it pretty much explains the mind set which is rather important for the next bit. So, the next bit!
This week was Homecoming week so today was suppose to be the game. Sadly it is raining and has been since around 5pmish so the game got postponed. In any event, earlier today, inbetween history and chorus (the schedule was weird) Loghman asked me to the football game. And he said he would pay for the tickets. My hindbrain totally freaks but I say yes because what else could I say? So I'm freaking, talk to Dr. Farber who's ecstatic but tells me not to make a bigger deal of it than it is. So I come back to school, go to IB music which is totally layed back and then off to the pep rally. God I hate pep rallies. I also would like to say that high school isn't the best years of your life and if it is you have a very sad life. And everyone in my graduating class who were all spirited this week are hypocrites. In any event I shore up plans with Loghman about what time we'll meet at the school and what happens if it's raining. Towards the end of the pep rally Coach Trout announces that the Homecoming parade has been cancelled and the game postponed. I silently cheer. Jasmine and Alex, who I was sitting with, look really confused. I briefly explain. This is the longer explanation. So yeah. He finally actually asked me out. His timing, as always, is inpeccable. Thankfully it didn't pan out so he'll just have to wait till later to try the whole football thing again. So ha. I will remain single for all eternity!
Anyway...I've got work to do. Tomorrow mind you, but I still have work. I'll try and update after this week, maybe during, but I doubt it. I'll definantly update once the new quarter starts.
Sweeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaarrrr!!!! Baaaaaaaaaaa!!!!! Shuuuuuuuuunn! :)
KC mark 2 update
WTF?!?!?!? Oh and by the way...who's not suprised about the whole Ricky thing? Not me! Oh well...I guess new news is better than no news. I will say this, they have kept their promise as far as I'm concerned. So good job boys. Good job.
So that's all the news that's fit to print. Have a nice night.

Umm...
Tired. Very tired. Have to finish stupid lab. Immediately going to bed there after. Uh, so tired. Evil lab making me think. Grrr...
Right, so. SAT II's went fairly well. Not expecting spectacular scores, but not horrible ones either. :knocks on wood: In any event, I have also decided that I must go to Mary Washington. I really have to go there. I had an awesome time in other words. Just, awesome. So yeah. Must get into Mary Wash. Must, must, must.
Airwaves festival on Saturday. Which means KC has about four days to finish the next album. Otherwise I will have full rights to call them liars. I will have no problem with this because I'm a bitter old woman. :nods: Oh yeah, I'm seriously fucked up. But I spell things the British way so I'm cool. Fucked up, but cool. Anyway, four days I tell you, four days!
Lily Allen!! Omg!!
"Alfie"
Ooooo deary me,
My little brother's in his bedroom smoking weed,
I tell him he should get up cos it's nearly half past three
He can't be bothered cos he's high on THC.
I ask him very nicely if he'd like a cup of tea,
I can't even see him cos the room is so smoky,
Don't understand how one can watch so much TV,
My baby brother Alfie how I wish that you could see.
[Chorus]
Oooooo I only say it cos I care,
So please can you stop pulling my hair.
Now, now there's no need to swear,
Please don't despair my dear Mon frere.
Ooooo Alfie get up it's a brand new day,
I just can sit back and watch you waste your life away
You need to get a job because the bills need to get paid.
Get off your lazy arse,
Alfie please use your brain
Surely there's some walls out there that you can go and spray,
I'm feeling guilty for leading you astray,
Now how the hell do you ever expect that you'll get laid,
When all you do is stay and play on your computer games?
[Chorus]
Oh little brother please refrain from doing that,
I'm trying to help you out so can you stop being a twat.
It's time that you and I sat down and had a little chat,
And look me in the eyes take off that stupid fitted cap.
[Chorus]
Please don't despair

No, Not A Real Post
Yeah...suckers. Thought you'd actually get something out of me. :thinks: Why am I being so mean spirited? Oh well...here's some bs for my history paper that's due in 5 hours and 48 minutes. Stupid, stupid, evil Ms. Croon and her stupid evil turnitin.com thing, evilness. Ugh I hate the woman.
Intro- "watershed presidencies"
Set up comparison: Wilson = demo progressive (hypocrite), Roosevelt = repub progressive (slightly less hypocritical)
Basic background info
Roosevelt - "speak softly and carry big stick"
Discuss early history (ashama, trying to be his dad){1par} then move onto how this was seen his policy and later actions (Sp-Am war, imperialism){1-2par}
Discuss repercussions on rest of twentieth century{1-2par}
Wilson - God's tool
Same as Roosevelt, with emphasis on religious overtones in policy decisions
Conclusion - wrap up by saying how the two were alike (progressive, international world view) and how their different from each other (everything else), explain how they are both different models for a modern presidency
Ugh...now I just have to write it. Poo.

Better
My nose and my fingers are freezing, but Rick's singing so I'm happy. It's funny, today I talked to Farber about my recent feelings of frustrations and about how technically if I dated someone who is 17 it would be pedophilia, decided that my internal fantasies could screw themselves and have been listening to my entire collection of Kaiser Chiefs in my Yahoo Jukebox account for the past hourish and damnnit if I don't feel better. Yeah, I'm weird, I know. But it isn't it nice? I think it's nice.
I found out today that my selection for representing the 70's is actually from the 1980 which kind of sucks. I've been trying to find someone (anyone) from the 70's to be representative of that era. My main concern is that I won't be able to find one that isn't the Kinks. Damn them for spanning so many eras! Damn punk rock for not starting until the late 70's! Damn you all!! But yeah...The Jam came along the same time as the Clash, the Ramones, Elvis Costello and the Sex Pistols. Freaky (though not really.)
My parents have decided that I would make a really good bartender. :nods: Yes friends when I turn 21 I'll be the one giving you your beer or martini. Best not piss me off between now and then.
:sighs: Oh Farber is a crazy, crazy man...

Mechanical
So I haven't had a real post in awhile. Sorry about that. I've been in a bit of a mood, so writing hasn't been foremost in my mind. Actually playing solitaire has. In any event I'm feeling a bit better and thought I might update a bit more comprehensively than I have in the past week or so. Not that there's so much to say. I mean...my life just isn't that interesting. But I'll try.
So I've been listening to Lily Allen like non-stop for the past few days. A friend of mine suggested this site called radio.blog.club which is totally neato. I've decided that if I can't find it on Yahoo, this site is my backup. So that's good.
Bleh...Mostly I've just been feeling overwhelmed by life. I don't actually have that much work, but it's like any work is too much. I guess I'm just not pushing myself. I don't know, maybe I just have a severe case of early onset senioritis. I think the most annoying part is that I'm self editing this journal. I know I am. It's like I have no where to vent anymore. I don't want to "offend" anyone. Or, well, one person. Not that I think she would actually care, but nonetheless. I just hate feeling like this and I'm just tired of not being able to tell anyone. Mum always overreacts, Dad doesn't give a shit because his life is "worse" than mine is, Sophs isn't here and I don't feel close enough to anyone I know to talk about this. It just sucks. I just want someone other than Farber to talk to, like really talk. Not fluffy shit. God. No one gets it! I'm not a sounding board anymore, I don't want to be that. And no, I don't want you're opinion either, please just let me vent. It's just so frustrating.

Everything's Just Wonderful
So today turned out to be kind of crappy. The weekend wasn't so bad, except when I felt like running machetes through everyone in the whole auditorium. Very bad mood, very bad. In any event I have some lyrics. Lily Allen. Then an article that makes me smile. First though, lyrics:
Everything's Just Wonderful (hooray sarcasam!)
Do you think, everything, everyone, is going mental,
It seems to me that it's spiralling outta control and it's inevitable,
Now don't you think,
This time is yours, this time is mine,
Its temperamental,
It seems to me, we're on all fours,
Crawling on our knees,
Someone help us please
Oh Jesus Christ almighty,
Do I feel alright? No not slightly,
I wanna get a flat I know I can't afford it,
It's just the bureaucrats who won't give me a mortgage,
Well it's very funny cos I got your fuckin money,
And I'm never gonna get it just because of my bad credit
Oh well I guess I mustn't grumble,
I suppose that's just the way the cookie crumbles.
Chorus
Oh yeah, I'm fine,
Everything's just wonderful,
I'm having the time of my life.
Don't you want something else,
Something new, than what we've got here,
And don't you feel it's all the same,
Some sick game and it's not insincere,
I wish I could change the ways of the world,
Make it a nice place
Until that day, I guess we stay,
Doing what we do
Screwing who we screw
Why can't I sleep at night,
Don't say it's gonna be alright,
I wanna be able to eat spaghetti bolognaise,
and not feel bad about it for days and days and days.
In the magazines they talk about weight loss,
If I buy those jeans I can look like kate moss,
Oh no it's not the life I chose,
But I guess that's the way that things go,
Chorus x2
Ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba etc.
Oh Jesus Christ almighty,
Do I feel alright? No not slightly,
I wanna get a flat I know I can't afford it,

"Emo is Dead," so says Tom.
Have a nice night. I'm going to go hide a hole.

Lily Allen
So I know I've mentioned her before, but here's a little update. Since I've heard her two British singles ("Smile" and "LDN") I've really been wanting to hear the rest of her repetoire. So, in desperation, I googled "Lily Allen + american release" and came up with this article. Hooray for pitchfork and all, but what is it with February? I mean honestly, it's cold, it's shorter than all the other months and it has Valentine's day in it. In any event, I also feel rather stupid because I've been checking for Lily Allen on Yahoo! and kept coming up with nothing and then all of a sudden today there was the electronic EP. Oh well. At least now I can listen to the bitter sarcasam of "Smile" all the time. No longer will I have to troll through Pop Now to try and hear it. Besides, her site streams some of the songs off of the LP so I can listen to that as well. Isn't it nice? I think so. Now if I could just find that Kaiser Chiefs cover she did and everything would be complete...
My Number 1
Alison Goldfrapp has a lovely voice. And the song "Number 1" fits in perfectly with my current mood. :sigh: Someone please find me a guy...I don't want to make the effort, but I want one nonetheless. :sigh:
So let's get this link party started...
Kaiser Chiefs...when they were alive. The funny thing is, is that this set has far less emphasis on Rick than the original set from last fall. Mind you Peter Hill is no dope, so maybe that's why. But it's always nice seeing the rest of the band. Even when I say I hate them, I really love them all. The really funny thing is that last October, when that tour happened, I remember bitching and moaning about not being able to seem them, even though I had seen them with Foo Fighters earlier in the month. Ah, even when things seem to change they stay exactly the same
Cheese? Now I love cheese. This evident my repeating that I love cheese. Because I love cheese. But actually going into "independent cheese making" seems a bit much to me. Maybe I don't love cheese as much as Mr. James. Or maybe Mr. James makes enough off of royalties from Blur that he doesn't have to worry about how fucking crazy he sounds. Again, maybe it's just me, I don't know. And just incase you've forgotten, the article kindly reminds us that Kaiser Chiefs suck at life.
Anyway, that's it kids. Here's some eye candy that makes me cry...

I Know
Possibly one of the oddest songs in my collection, but I fucking love it. On a side note, Mike Skinner looks fucking scary.
"When You Wasn't Famous"
Ahhh see... Right see the thing that's got it all f*cked up now is camera-phones.
How the hell am I supposed to be able to do a line in front of complete strangers, when I know they've
all got cameras?
When you're a famous boy, it gets really easy to get girls,
it's all so easy you get a bit spoilt.
But, when you try to pull a girl, who is also famous too,
it feels just like when you wasn't famous.
The celebrity pages in papers don't tell tales that are always to the line of the truth.
It's 'til a line (of coke) at which most likely you'll have the time, or enough finance to sue.
Which is why it's so frightening buying papers in the morning fearing the next Mike Skinner scoop.
'Cos I used to believe what I read, so now I know that others will believe that it's true
But I realised, with you the truth could be, a whole lot worse than the flack.
My whole life I never thought I'd see, a pop star smoke crack.
And I must admit I was quite shocked, with that thing you did with me on my back.
But, outside in the lobby, I shouldn't have laughed when you slapped that man.
When you're a famous boy, it gets really easy to get girls,
it's all so easy you get a bit spoilt.
But, when you try to pull a girl, who is also famous too,
it feels just like when you wasn't famous.
You were so much fun, I really got to like you more than you liked me,
I really hoped that you'd stay.
Considering the amount of prang you'd done, you looked amazing on cd...uk.
You learn dances, do promo, cameras flashing, get in the van, zoom away (reeeoow).
I wake up high, (unknown) feel hung over and sorry for my doomed day.
But I know I got a bit close to you, and that you found it f*cking boring.
You taught me so much about how to deal with the (?).
And what version of a rumour would be next day everyone's story of me.
You taught me all the realities and "turn the page & ignore 'em".
When you're a famous boy, it gets really easy to get girls,
it's all so easy you get a bit spoilt.
But, when you try to pull a girl, who is also famous too,
it feels just like when you wasn't famous.
Anyway, I had to rest my beer hat, delete my dealer's number and unroll my bank notes.
And we were on borrowed time anyway, what with the daily toilet papers not knowin'.
And I knew that when the people who thought they knew you, when they found out, I would've been mocked.
Which is ironic, 'cos in reality, standing next to you I look f*cking soft.
Whenever I see you on MTV, I can't stop my big wide smile.
And past the "children's appeal", I see the darkness behind.
We both know the scratches on my back, much better than the alludes and lies.
I miss the bitchin' and shoutin', but I'm glad I got out in time.
When you're a famous boy, it gets really easy to get girls,
it's all so easy you get a bit spoilt.
But, when you try to pull a girl, who is also famous too,
it feels just like when you wasn't famous.

Monday, Monday...
That's a good song by the way. Also entirely true, but I digress...
So today and yesterday I've been listening to the UK Launchcast Pop Now station. This mostly consists of reopening the page once my five skips run out because in all honesty I'm not much of a pop person. I have heard both of Lily Allen's singles (Smile and LDN) and I'm interested to hear what the rest of the album sounds like. Mind I don't know when she'll be releasing the album in the states, but I'll just wait. I've also heard some other cool songs. Nice change from my usual Indie Bands playlist. I must admit though listening to this station (and Indie Bands) confirms my belief that I really belong in the UK. Either that or I should pay more attention to the radio. Not sure which, though I prefer the former to the latter. Less blame on me. In any event, a nice little exploration for Nore.
MUN went well on Saturday. My simulation group passed a working paper which was super nifty. Loghman and I talked like semi-normal people. I don't honestly think it will go back to the way it was last year, but something is better than nothing. He was suprised to hear that I want to be a music journalist. He also said "so you're not going to settle down?" which I didn't get to really reply to because we were switching rooms and my chance to respond got lost in the hubbub around us. I was sort of suprised he would say something like that, but I don't know why. In any event I had a good time on Saturday which is the most important part. Mr. Vagts' wife is nice. :nods: Good times, good times.
Well I better get to work soon. Need to do a powerpoint on how the US took over Cuba finacially at the beginning of the 20th century. Good times will surely be had by all.
I'm sad...stupid Europeans

I'm a MUNer
So tomorrow will be my first Model UN confernce. Oddly enough (except not really) it's called "My First Model UN" or "My First MUN" for short. I told Farber about this and in his opinion this would be a great oppurtunity for me to work of my flirting skills. Or as he put I should "hit on guys tomorrow." Admitedly I see where he's coming from, but why on God's green earth does he even imagine that I would do that? My crazy therapist. Anyhoo, I'm going to be exhausted tomorrow. We have to be there at 8am and the conference doesn't end until 3pm. I'm wondering what I've gotten myself into. Thankfully I'm representing Canada so my job won't be too hard. I might even get to relax a little. Enjoy myself. Flirt with guys (hahaha).
So my friendship with Loghman is starting to peeter out. I'm rather depressed about this, especially considering how annoying he's being. I can understand if he doesn't want to be "friends" like we use to be. I totally get that. I just wish he would give some sort of explanation for why he's been acting to cold towards me. I always assumed things would end when we got to college, but now seems so soon. I don't. I'm mostly just frustrated with his behaviour. I guess I'll just have to get use to it. :sigh:
Hmm...Schools going well. That's it really. I have MUN tomorrow and Loghman's turned into an iceberg. I still like my teachers. Yup...life isn't so bad really. Until later mes copines.

Right, so I'm using blogger beta now. Look at the Kasabian video player I have now!! Marvel at the oddness of the clip for Shoot the Runner. Revel in Nore's coolness. Anyhoo...just a quick update.

I'm so fucking tired. I mean I'm seriously exhausted. If I just get these quotes onto the page I can fill it out during bio tomorrow. God I'm fucking exhausted. Tomorrow was a long day for me. My computer was freaking out on me, I was all like social social, had model UN after school. Just really fucking tired. I'm def going to bed early without telling anyone. I really need to sleep. I'm fixating on the idea of my bed. Mmmm...
I read a story today in CW and Ms. Beauchemin really liked it. It felt nice not being critized. God I hate Tretheway. Stupid arrogant bastard. God...can you tell I'm tired? I can. Anyway it was nice. I liked my story. I like repetition. I like beds...

Five Years
Has it really been five years? I can remember thinking it was a hoax, a prank. God...has it really been five years?
Five years ago the Strokes released their first CD. I was slowly spiraling down into my own oblivion, trying desperately to ignore the fact. Five years ago Kaiser Chiefs, Keane, Maximo Park, fuck, most of the bands I like, didn't exist, or at least not how I know them. Five years ago I was getting use to the fact that middle school wasn't going to be much better than 6th grade. If only I had known how much worse things would get. Five years ago I was truly naive.
Five years ago "Gilmore Girls" had been on for a year. The Bush administration had been around for a year as well. Five years ago reality turned into a movie. Even now it's hard to believe it happened. It seems so surreal. How does something like that happen? Real life isn't like that. Except now. Real life is like that now.
Five years ago Gorillaz came out with their self titled CD. I didn't even know who that was, let alone the band that preceded Gorillaz. There was so much I didn't know. I couldn't have known. But look at life now. What don't I know, that I will know five years from now? The world, day to day life has changed so much, so drastically in just five years. How much will have changed five years from now?
I was in chorus. Chris told the class, I didn't believe him. It wasn't until I got home that it really it me. Two buildings and thousands of people I had never heard of and never met had been destroyed. Five years ago.

MeMeHaMeFoStyCo
Here's another little experiment in doing my homework online. Except this time with more structure! Hooray! Anyway...MeMeHaMeFoStyCo!
Song: Modern Way
By: Kaiser Chiefs, from Employment
[what a huge fucking suprise that I picked that song...or for that matter any song by KC. Huge fucking suprise] [proceeds to do everything out of order because it's fun!]
Form: Intro, verse 1, verse 2, chorus, verse 3, chorus, outro
Meter: duple (possibly 2/4, could be 4/4)
Style: Rock, in the britpop vain. Heavy guitar, with keyboard and cow bell. (According to pandora.com: Electric rock instrumentation, subtle use of vocal harmony, a vocal-centric aesthetic, and minor key tonality) [all of which seem so damn obvious, I didn't think of them myself]
Harmonies: Some vocal harmonies. Background "aah" harmony at the end of verses 1 and 2 and during chorus.
Medium: Not sure at all. Recording?
Melody: Lead singers line. Aka what the lyrics are sung to.
Composer/Context: Not sure what the context is but the song was written by Nick Hodgson/Ricky Wilson (though technically it's written by the whole band, but I don't believe that for a minute)
Well there you have it folks. My IB music homework completed! Oh what joy...and I really don't believe the whole band wrote any of the songs. Maybe helped, but I wouldn't give them writing credit. Because I'm mean.

Songs! Yay! Songs!
1. If you could pick your own theme song, what would it be?
Modern Way because of the chorus
2. Now be honest...if others had to pick a song that described you, what would they choose?
Dunno...anyone have any ideas?
3. What song would be/was the first dance at your wedding?
Think About You (And I Like It) because it just sounds so damn romantic.
4. What song gets stuck in your head most often?
Depends on what I've been listening to. The toher day I had Spinto Band, and then yesterday it was Kasabian.
5. What song would you want played at your funeral?
Claire de Lune by Debussy, though I'd somehow make sure that all my favorite bands would get played as well, no matter how inappropriate it may seem.
Now, lets see...what's my favorite song today? Ugh, stupid music theory making me decide. Hmmm...Kaiser Chiefs or Franz Ferdinand...

While I Procrastinate
Here are some things to be looked at while I procrastinate. Just one more damn paragraph...just one more!
Such good boys
Load. Press "Gigs." Join me as I twitch and think evil thoughts
See, they have the right idea. Dunno if they're any good, but they have the right idea.
Dude, I totally understand that urge to repeatedly listen to the same thing twenty gazillion times in a row.
Oh Nellie McKay, you are my singing idol...along with some other people.
Well, I'm going to do my Bio. Have a nice night.

Oh Damn Me...
So, the second day went well. I like most of my teachers, though I'm worried about Ms. Croon. I just got this feeling that I'm not going to like the class. I'm sure I'll learn a lot (considering how I know nearly nothing about 20th century history) but I just feel like I'm going to be teaching myself. I don't want to have to do that my senior. In any event, all my other new classes (bio and music) went well. The new part of the school is really spiffy looking. The weird thing though, is that I kind of prefer the old parts of the school. The new part is just so shiny and new. Which is redundant, but it's so...sterile. The old part of the school has life, history. Sure, it's nice having doors and all that, but I dunno. I liked the curtains. I got use to them. Ah well, just have to get use to it. As for my IB music teacher, seems really nice, though different from Ms. Kirby (Holsten, Fuller). She has twin boys who just graduated from college, one of whom is working in the "music business." Yay for vagueness, but still intriguing. The class is about 80% bandies and 20% everyone else. In the chorus section there's only one alto. The rest are sopranos. Boo sopranos, hooray altos! What's neat though is that this one girl who I use to be friends, who's also in my history class, is in my IB music class and the reason this is all neat is because she knows who the Arctic Monkeys are. And she likes them, so all is good. Yeah, that's basically it. I'm listening to News and Tributes by the Futureheads. It's all good. Mr. Vagts' beard is a strap to keep is hair on and he has a posable Fidel Castro. I miss his class. But I have "sacred" reading time tomorrow for 45 minutes in Creative Writing so I have something to look forward to. And I am.

Update
Arctic Monkeys won the Mercury prize of 20,000 pounds which is totally unsuprising. Noenetheless, yay for the boys, they do deserve it. Mind you I'm still pissed about how last year worked out, but I'll live.
So yeah, the first day of school went well. I like all my teachers, I have lunch with Jackie which is uber awsome and that's it. The first day of school is never as interesting as you think it's going to be, soley because all the teachers do is go over syllabuses and school policy and all that kind of adminstrative stuff. We did do some stuff in English, but it was rather dry and so not very noteworthy. We actually did a little singing in chorus, where I learned that I either a) pick up on songs a lot faster than I thought I did, or b) I was the only person who had heard the song before and thus had an advantage over everyone else. I'm not sure which it is. Anyway, I think I'm going to like having chorus everyday. I must admit though it was weird being in the chorus room with the chorus people instead of the band room. Dunno, I suppose I'll get used to it. So that's it. Oh, but one last thing: So looking forward to Creative Writing. So, yay!
So many good songs and bands in the world, so little time and resources. Woe is me. :fake faint:
There's a reason it's called "embarrasing" but yeah...I've got a new song to hear :major blush:

Right. [pause] I'm fine. [pause] In a way. [pause] The possiblities of people dying are good, but I'm fine. [pause] And by people I mean the famous kind. :twitch: Maybe some not so famous people as well, but that's less likely. [pause] Yeah. [pause] I'm fine. [pause] Really, just fine. [pause] [longer pause] Here's a nice little article of evil. [pause] Then...oh then you'll see why my list has grown...
Franz Ferdinand reveal how much they hate me (oh I'm not self centered)
On a brighter note, Kasabian rocks at life. Unlike certain other bands I could mention. :cough:Kaiser Chiefs:cough: I'm going to play Solitaire now. Avoid reality. Ya know, live.

For F*ck Sake, Why Me?
Christ on a goddamn, motherfucking crutch. I feel like shit at the moment. I have all my resources for my history paper, thank fucking god, but I still have to write the goddamn abstract. School starts in two fucking days! Christ, christ, christ I feel like such shit. I'm nauseous and my intestines feel like they're going to explode. I'm listening to Keane for the first time since I found out about Tom going into rehab. Goddamn I hate school and it hasn't even fucking started yet. I'm cursing like a sailor I know. I'm just in such a foul mood right now. I can't even get mad at anyone. I wish I could. Something meaningless to be mad about. Alas nothing. In any event I don't know when I'll be updating again, so here are a couple of articles to gnaw on:
Pandora.com: or How Nore Discovered When the Cows Come Home
Pee Wee Herman, Rehab, and Tom from Kasabian, Oh My!
I Think my Peanut Bars and Oveltine have a special relationship...
Until sometime in the future, hopefully.

Foul Mood and No More Politics!
Tired. Wish I could commit bodily harm to someone. Or yell at someone. Bored. Listless. Generally in a crappy mood. Which fits in nicely with the weather and the general disposition of the house. Mums got a new computer yesterday and already hates it. I can't help the fact that I know nothing about computers. Everyone seems to think that because I'm young and am on mine all the time means I actually know something about the damn thing. Well I don't. I wish I could be more of a help, just so she wouldn't be in such a bad mood, but I know as much as she does. Possibly less.
Any way there's not that much happening here. Mums is fucking around with her computer and I'm thinking bitter thoughts about Loghman and what I could do to him with a machete. Or a good set of speakers and my mp3 player. God that boy pisses me off sometimes. I mean honestly...fuck. I don't want to think about goddamn politics, but he just pushes. I have my mother's temperment when it comes to these things, which means I go off about the littlest things. I wish I could debate someone on the merit of some musical movement or some such thing. Something I know about, instead of politics, which I know nothing about. Aaaaarrrggggggggh!!!! I'm too tired for this shit. Ugh.
I miss Kaiser Chiefs doing things. I want something to look forward to! Ugh, I'm in such a foul mood. I'm off.

Stalker Songs
You've Got a Friend in Me by the Zutons is about a stalker. :smiles: I like stalker songs.
The End is Nigh
NME is asking me how my summer has been, classes are starting at colleges and other places. In Fairfax county students scramble to finish summer assignments and teachers bemoan the beginning of another year. Labour Day weekend approaches and the appropriate sales will begin shortly. Declarations, promises, and oathes are made for a better year and the blue/white collar working stiffs of the world wonder what all the hub-bub is about. The summer is ending or has ended. Where did it go?
Summer usually goes by quickly for me. But, unlike this year, things usually happen. This year, nothing. I went to one concert and not much else happened. Sure there was Hollins and ClariCamp but most of the summer was spent doing nothing. I discovered bands, I played Clicken Gold, I read Tess of the D'Ubervilles and a few other books, I went to Vermont, and I watched the days go by. Rather depressing really. I just can't believe school will be starting soon. It seem rather unbelievable. Like Kaiser Chiefs ever coming out with a second CD or Big Foot. But I suppose the summer had to end eventually. It always does. I just wish more had happened.

A Day in the Life
Mmmm...I love/hate Sundays. I also have something of a love/hate relationship with the month of August, but that's life. In any event, this weekend has, for me, been pretty boring. I've either been reading, writing, sleeping, reading, listening to music, or checking up on Carling Weekend. I only had one fit when I shook my computer with much vigor and venom, but that's to be expected when I read about Kaiser Chiefs. On a completely different tangent, I found out when Empire is being released in the states which makes me immensely happy. Mind you, it is almost a month later than its release date in the UK but I'll live. Hopefully someone will continue to stream the album so I can listen to it lots and lots before I get it. I also found out that the Zutons' lastest CD has in fact been released in the states, as has the Spinto Bands' debut album. Eventually I will get my act together and have Mum order those along with a bunch of Bob Dylan that Dad wants. Anyway, that's what's been going on this weekend. I'll probably spend the rest of this week totally freaking out about school and my summer assignments. Something to look forward to I suppose. Oooohh goody.
In case you wondering...

I feel desperately disappointed to be letting down our fans, but I want to get myself right now so that I can be back on the road for the rest of the year." (From the official site.)

Greetings from the Commonwealth
Over the past year my list of worries has changed considerably. Last year I was worried about my classes, marching band, and the social aspect of life. This year I'm worried about my teachers, my bands, the social aspect of life (some things don't change), and college applications. Considering how very little I can do about some of these issues (if I get Zylka, I get Zylka) one would think I would try my best to focus on what I can control (eg; my grades, writing really good college essays). But you see that would be logical. Logic, in my opinion, is for other people. I rather like my illogical stance. So what do I worry about? The hypocrisy of my bands. Particularly my favorite band. Case in point (from their latest news dispatch): Next time our heads appear above the surface it will be with a new record complete. What does that mean? Or more specifically, what does that mean for me? After this month's festival dates, Kaisers will be doing the Airwaves festival in Iceland in October. So what? They go to Iceland with this new album all wrapped up and wait until February to actually release it??? That, my friends, annoys me to no end. Meanwhile, Yahoo has finally gotten it's act together (or so I will say) and have Empire in their collection. Also Kasabian has put the album Empire up on their myspace page. I think we all know how I feel about myspace. Thus I'm annoyed. I suppose being annoyed is better than being worried, but it kind of causes the same results. In any event, instead of thinking about how I can make my college application look like I didn't fuck up the first two years of high school too horribly and that my only interest is listening to music and playing Clicken Gold, I complain about my bands. :sigh: Hooray for being anti-logic! Like Fairfax County and George Allen.
In other news Loghman is applying to Mary Washington. I don't really care what Mums says about this, I'm freaked. :twitches: I bet he doesn't even really want to go there. I bet it's just a lousy safety school for him. I bet he hasn't looked at the course catelog for his potential majors. Grrrrr...I hate being in competition with him! It's completely unfair! And, best of all, there's nothing I can do about it. If I even to much as mention the fact that his applying makes me worry, he'll totally freak. Aaargh! Stupid college.
I'm home.

Guuuuuuuh
that_heather over at Livejournal is so my best friend. You see, ma famille et moi went hiking. Thankfully I had my mp3 player so I could listen to lovely music whilst excersising, but still. I hate hiking. I hate hiking almost as much as I hate spinach or marching band. So I go online hoping against hope that there might be something of interest to get my mind off the fact that I'm all gross and tired. The fates were smiling at me because this lovely pictured had been posted by that_heather. So I'm happy. Really, really happy. But as I said to my friend Mar in reply to her reply to my last entry (livejournal style) I just need to figure out how to get rid of my grandparents. Then everything will perfect. I can stare longingly at Ricky pictures while listening to Kaiser Chiefs on repeat. :) :eyes glaze over: I'm not crazy...just a wee tad unhinged. Nothing to be scared of.

The Maple Syrup State
Currently in Vermont. I'm about 3/4 done with Tess of the D'Urbervilles. I swear I will destroy this book after we've thoroughly gone through it in English. Tess annoys me to no end. But I don't hate the book. It's not like Dickens which just annoys me all around. At least I don't hate the book entirely. That would just be too much. In any event I'm in Vermont. I'm listening to Muse. I haven't killed anyone yet. Go look at this picture because it makes me happy. I'm off to pretend to be social. :eyes glaze over: Kill me please. Pretty please?

Since I Haven't Updated in Forever
I'm tired. Very, very tired. That's it really. I'm leaving for Vermont on Friday for a week with my grandparents and hiking. I could be less excited. I am happy in the knowledge though that I won't be going to band camp after this week. In fact I realized a few days ago that I won't have to carpool with Evan. That makes me very, very happy. Life is pretty good. I'm really tired and hungry though. And I'm still not looking forward to my week in Vermont. I won't even have Kasabian to save me. I will have Kaiser Chiefs, but...I wish I could have both. That would make me happy. Oh well. At least I'll have most of my music. That's good. Till later...

Definitions
The word fan refers to someone who has an intense, occasionally overwhelming liking of a person, group of persons, work of art, idea, or trend.
Teen Idol Fangirls
These fangirls will commonly hold a crush on a major male star, athlete or celebrity (common examples include Brad Pitt and Johnny Depp). This can range from a simple crush to the complete belief that the male celebrity is either madly in love with the fangirl, or will fall madly in love with the fangirl once he lays his eyes on her.
Fanaticism, from French fanatique or Latin fanaticus 'inspired by a god, frenzied' fanum 'temple' is an emotion of being filled with excessive, uncritical zeal, particularly for an extreme religious or political cause, or with an obsessive enthusiasm for a pastime or hobby.
Fangirl behaviour is believed to vary in intensity. On one end of the scale are those that, while harbouring a crush on a particular actor or character, are perfectly capable of understanding that the fulfillment of the crush is never going to happen. On the other end are the girls who are said to be obsessive in their claims on a fictional character, even fighting with other fangirls over who 'owns' the character in question. Fangirl behaviour can fall anywhere between these criteria, but the closer someone is believed to be towards the obsessive end, the more derogatory the use of the term 'fangirl' to describe them is perceived to be.
1. fangirl
A rabid breed of human female who is obsessed with either a fictional character or an actor. Similar to the breed of fanboy. Fangirls congregate at anime conventions and livejournal. Have been known to glomp, grope, and tackle when encountering said obsessions.
Hugh Jackman: 'ello.
Fangirl: SQUEEEEEE! *immediately attaches to Jackman's leg*
Jackman: Security!
2. A female who has overstepped the line between healthy fandom and indecent obsession
1. a girl who is a fan of a anime/video game/book charatcher. Or a fan or a real actor/singer.
2. There are three types of Fangirl:
NORMAL FANGIRL (STAGE ONE)
These are the type of fangirl I can actually stand. Has a slight obsession with the object of her desire. Reads fanfics about her chosen desire. Has about ten posters of her desire. Knows he is a fabrication (applies to anime/video games). Is literate.
RABID FANGIRL (STAGE TWO)
A slight step up from the Normal Fangirl phase. Is aged between 12-17 year old. Has a Livejournal and is in no less than ten communities dedicated to the object of her desire. Writes shitty fanfiction (all fanfiction is shit). Sqees A LOT.
Uses those gay anime emoticons such as ^_^). Cosplays. Is seen at stores like Barnes and Noble (In America) and in Oxford Street (where I live, in the UK). Draws shitty fanart. Avoid.
UBER FANGIRL (FINAL TRANSFORMATION)
This is the ultimate form of Fangirl. If you diss the object of her desire, you are doomed to a lifetime of grammar murderings. Has a Livejournal/devinart/Myspace/xanga account. Is seen at Gaia Online and Neopets FC (about 70% of the FC are on this stage already) Has about 1000000000 posters dedicated to her object. Has the entire mercenside line devoted to her desire. Creates and joins Fanlistings. writes and reads shitty yaoi fanfiction. It created FranzxAlbert. Your worst nightmare.
Normal Fangirl: I like Itachi, hes hot.
Rabid Fangirl: NOOOOO!!! ITACHI IS MINE BITCH!!!!!
Uber Fangirl: OMG!!!!!!!! ITACHI IZ MEH FURTOOR HUSBAND!!!!! LYKE WE IZ GUNNA MARRY AND HAVE 10000000000 BEBIES!!^_________________^::::: HE IZ MINE BICHTESEE!!!!!
Hehe. I'm not a fangirl. I'm just a little obsessed. Thanks to Wikipedia and Urband Dictionary for the definitions.

Mood Swings and the Real World
There's no explaining it. Every time that time of the month comes along I become a little monster. It's gotten better (now a few days instead of a week ahead) but it still messes with me. I was talking to Sophs and she declared PMS "no excuse." I retorted that she couldn't judge until she'd had the mood swings I have during my period. I also ahve gotten more control over my lovely swings. I know they're going to happen and I know what helps them. The odd thing is, is that there's no way to explain why this particular of making me feel better works.
There are these funny commercials for Red Stripe beer. The slogan, basically, is "Hooray Beer!" said by a Jamican man. I like these commercials for two reasons: Red Stripe is mentioned by KC in What Did I Ever Give You? and the commercials, in my opinion are actually pretty funny. So now the point; Hooray British Music! But why British? This fact has been bothering me for the past few days. Why is it that I like British music so much better than American. We've discussed the fan aspect but in thinking about it a little more, it seems to me that good American music, though harder for me to find, is just as good as good British music. Granted, it is easier for me to find British music. There's NME and This is Fake DIY. The only source for good American rock under my belt is Filter, and that's populated mostly folk-pop. I also just don't trust them as much as I do the former. So I'm stuck with a problem: I like British music, no I know, save my family, knows anything about British music, and I don't know where to find American. I would like to find a few more American rock bands to like. Thus far I have two; OK Go and WAS. As compared to the plethera of Brits.
:sigh: I like music. Music makes me feel better. I'll just have to listen to the "Indie Bands" station on UK Launchcast.

New Discoveries
Cliptip has recently become my bestest friend. I don't know what it is, but they've had three, count them three really spiffy videos. Thankfully for my sanity and my hard drive, only two were new. The Strokes video for You Only Live Once was really cool. Julian Casablancas acts a little funny, but I felt really horrible for Fab, the drummer, because he got drowned first. Poor Fab. Then there was Empire and now...a spaghetti western sci-fi romantic drama video from Muse. Thus I am happy. Very, very happy.

PicSpam
Ummm...PICTURES!! Yeah...
This is a fairly general picspam. WAS, Kasabian, Franz Ferdinand, and Kaiser Chiefs included. Have fun looking at the pretty pictures:

Keith tuning his guitar. Oh so sexy, with the sexy hat. And the black and whiteness. :smiles:

This picture makes me happy. He looks so tired and so sweet. Yay for R.
Now for the new guy...

Neither picture is terribly recent, but...gaah.
Now...Alex!

:thinks: Must make this work. Grrrr...Best picture I've ever seen though. Even if it is rather small.
Now a pretty little link to the video for Empire. I tried to to embed the video, but decided that was going to be too hard for my meager html skills. Now...Empire

And Then I Got a Cookie
I had a very odd dream last night. It involved some odd elements including the following; Me participating in some sort of recess game (a ball and catching said ball), one person I haven't seen since elementary school, a plot line about people being all worried about getting into college (not so odd really), and Franz Ferdinand playing at a place that was suppose to be my school. I had for some reason left a bike in a nook where they were going to playing (or near where they were going to be playing). Not that I remember using the bike earlier in the dream, but I digress. So Loghman and I (naturally) went to get said bike. When we get there Franz is there too and Alex is wondering about the bike. I tell him it's mine and he's like alright. Then he mentions something about cookies being back somewhere. I immediatly know exactly where he's talking about. This is a dream. So Loghman and I go off to obtain said cookie. The bike miraculously disappears once in the cookie area. After getting the cookie I went off to sleep in Mr. Vagts classroom. So lets see: I've been listening to Empire at least 3 or 4 times in a row every time I turn on my computer and have been listening to their first album quite a lot. I haven't listened to Franz in a good week or so. :nods: But I got a cookie! I love Alex now. :)

New Obsession Alert
News Flash: Nore Has Found a New Obsession!
Yes folks it's true. Nore, infamous writer of this blog has found herself a new musical obsession. Thanks to the wonderful music video blog cliptip Nore has found a new band to be all giddy and ridiculous about. And guess what folks, that band is Kasabian! Yup the hunky guys from Leicester are now proud memebers of Nore's "band" along with fellow Brits Kaiser Chiefs and Arctic Monkeys. So look out for new information about these guys and their upcoming second album.
God...I'm just so sad.

Empire
On other stuff...you might have read some tabloid nonsense about us having a war with Kasabian, rubbish flies around in the press all the time, but we feel this time we should intervene as this is completely fabricated. Creative journalism at it's worst. We consider Kasabian as friends and have enjoyed their company whenever we've met...it's quite the opposite from what's reported, we have respect for Kasabian and wish them the best of luck with their new record. To set the record straight we didn't even play the same day as them at T or Oxegen which would make having a scrap pretty difficult.
--- Kaiser Chief Newsletter from Tues. July 11
Semi-political agitators Kasabian could not have picked a better time to release an anti-war themed music video. "Stop! Said it's happening again! We're all wasting away!" Rock and roll makes war look unsexy with arty metaphors and period war costumes. Mind you, the band still looks sexy those mutineers. Errr... were mutineers. I wonder if the whole shooting thing is a metaphor for lead guitarist / keyboardist Chris Karloff leaving the band. This is the title track from their sparkling new album to be released this fall. --- Cliptip a music video blog
This is Kasabian. They keep popping up in my Yahoo! radio station. Supposedly I'm suppose to like them. What really freaks me out is how much the lead singer and Ricky Wilson look alike. Call me crazy if you'd like, but in my opinion there are a lot of similarities. Right, so who's the lead singer you ask? The one who's fake punching you. Otherwise known as the one second from the left. Or the one who looks like he's in the middle. Shall I continue? Thought not.
Empire, as cliptip so nicely pointed out is from their not yet released album. Much to my chagrin they've yet to release the single in the States. So Yahoo, for all it's wonderful qualities, doesn't have it. Otherwise I would have it and be listening to it. Instead I'm listening to their first album. Pretty good album too. But Empire. Now that's a spiffy track. The music video, with it's lovely period costumes (think Victorian military...mmm tight pants and sexy shirts) is also pretty good, but lots of blood and booms, too little watching the band. In any event, I really like the song and have listened to it far too many times.
As for the other topic I brought up...Tom (the lead singer's first name) does too look kind of like R. The hair colour for instance. :tries to think of something else: >_< He's cute alright? I'm allowed my op-ed even if I can't support it. Grrr...
In other news, Blur lead singer Damon Albarn is going to somehow miraculously come out with his new band's debut before Kaiser Chiefs come out with their second. To quote NME (Indie-Rock bible), "They plan to release their debut single in October, before the full album - a concept record about London - is released in January next year." Damn it! Stupid Kaiser Chiefs. Grrr...I'm still upset. Hence why I'm turning to Kasabian. >_> Yeah...
Kasabian= depressed Ricky :(
Kaiser Chiefs= happy Ricky :)

Oh my word
Oh. My. God. Thanks to that_heather I'm more scarred for life than I was before. I don't think I can even give you guys a link to the post. I don't want to hurt your eyes like mine have been hurt. Damn her to hell! Ugh...
If I got Mary Washington I could go to Edinburgh 0_0. Or London. Or Cork. Hell I could go to Iceland. And sing "Tropical Iceland" while I'm there. Maybe there are some perks to going to a bigger school.
Yay for brainwashing! I've now converted two people to campKC. :shudders: DAMN YOU HEATHER!
I have to heal my eyes now. :twitch:
Here it is. It's horrible. Just horrible.

1 Year
It has been exactly one year since I first saw the Kaiser Chiefs live. Yay!! Now...where's my new CD?
Anyway onto something boring and tedious...since I'm bored:
1. What talent(s) do you have that could make you famous?
I sing. People tell me I'm pretty good at it. That's about it.
2. If you could be famous for one day, what would you do?
I would tell Ricky to hurry his ass up and get me a new KC album. (Oh obsession is fun!)
3. If you were so famous that money was no object, where would you live?
Ummm...Leeds?
4. If you could meet any famous person, who would it be?
Gosh...dunno. -_-
5. What would be your famous catch phrase/quote/motto/last words?
"Buggrit, millenium hand and shrimp" or "Roses are red, violets are blue, I like cornflakes, can you swim?"
Now I command you to listen to Kaiser Chiefs. Even just one song. GO!

GO!

Lilly Allen --- OMG
Seems Lilly Allen has done a cover "Oh My God." I'm listening to it right now, and...OMG. It's really funny. Not bad, I like her voice, it's just really funny. She's kind of hip-hop and Kaiser Chiefs...are really, really, not. So it's really funny. Not bad. Just really, really fucking funny. But...yay for trumpet! I can't stop laughing! Teehee

A Request
Right, seeing as there are approximately three of you who read this thing (lj edition) I'm going to make a request: Find me non-scary pictures of the band Blur. Or...find me the Blur icon. It's on all of their albums, so look at one of those if you don't understand what I mean. I'd like one, non-scary, picture for an icon. Seeing as this band is slowly needling its way into my ears (I can't make it much longer without "When the Cows Come Home") I figure they deserve an icon. In any event, a non-scary picture would be appreciated. Feel free (as in you must) send me this picture so I can decide whether or not it is scary. If it is, try again. That is all. I'm off to find the ice cream.

Incredibly Tired
Christ I'm tired. I did a 1.5 mile hike. Steep up and steep down. Lots of rocks and really incredibly stupid steps. My thighs will kill me tomorrow. At the moment I just feel like jelly.
If you would like, go read my stupid story. God I'm tired...

This Isn't Working
This is not how one finishes a CD quickly. This is one has fun, which is alright, except I'm highly impatient and today is not a good day to get me mad. Downtown Roanoke, though not the pit that Blacksburg is, is quite pittish. I got a neat purse and a frog ring but otherwise I was highly disappointed. No music stores!! Grrr...
In any event I'm tired and the smelly store we went to has given me a dull pain in my poor brain but I did get the ring. Elizabeth (one part "we") was particurally annoying :twitch twitch:. In any event...I get to "Lake House." Damn my stupid brain! Oh well. I can make fun of Keanu Reeves. Which is always fun.
I have an hour and 15 minutes till dinner. :twitch: So tired...
RICKY GET BACK TO WORK DAMNIT!!

Hollins Five
I may be at Hollins but I feel like doing the Friday Five. Besides, Farber said I couldn't be in my room for more than an hour. I'm not in my room. So ha! I may be alone but I'm not in my room!
1. What about you makes you unique?
My insanity. My dependence on certain things. Like music. And Ricky.
2. What aspect of your physical appearance do you think makes you stick out from the crowd?
I'm 5'10". I think that's pretty special.
3. What do you always have with you while out in public? (for example, earrings, purse, wallet, watch, etc.)
I almost always have my purse, but mainly I just have myself.
4. Is there anything about your body that you think isn't normal?
Umm...my brain?
5. What are you complimented on (looks, smarts, anything) the most? Why do you think that's the case?
I'm not really noticed that often but when I am it's usually because what I'm wearing is incredibly colour cordinated. But normally I'm just not noticed. :blends into wall:

My Problem with American Music and Their Subsequent Fans
I'm not entirely sure which annoys me more: The actual bands that started in the States (Fall Out Boy, Panic! at the Disco, etc.) or their fans. You see I never really listen to that stuff. I like my music mainly imported (Franzie, KC, AM, etc.) so I never really listen to the homegrown kind. What I'm mainly exposed to are the arguments (The Killers v. Emo) or the homegrown bands' fans. The fans that I'm exposed to, you must understand, are the truly obsessive almost stalker like ones. They aren't like me. I can be scary (RICKY!!!) but I don't talk to the whole world about it. These fans are vehement about their bands and will defend them to the ground, even if the bands are completely in the wrong. I guess that's my main problem. That and the fact that the bands aren't terribly inventive. Admittedly I've heard maybe 2 songs by P!atD and I own FOB's latest album. Cute is What We Aim For and The Academy Is... are completely foreign territory. But they all seem to get lumped together so I get the sense that these bands are good at just a few things: Writing about sex, repeating the same line about twenty times in a row with no noticeable difference, writing about a lack of sex, and writing about how they can't get girls. They all seem to (knowingly or unknowingly) fuel a lot of drama. And finally Brandon Flowers thinks their evil. But, I'm still not sure which annoys me more: The bands or the fans. All I can think of is "Fake Tales of San Francisco" or more specifically these lines from the end of the song: "I'd love to tell you all my problem/You're not from New York City, you're from Rotherham/So get off the bandwagon, and put down the handbook." Especially the last bit. So get off the bandwagon (all you fans) and but down the handbook (all you bands.)

Another Bored Moment In Life
Hahahahahahahaha. I'm writing on a mac! And Hannah is watching cuz the world is just that boring. And I'm listening to Billy Idol which I don't normally do. And...and...stuff. Yeah. Katie and RAcheal and no else (thought Carrie was bu she isn't) are developing pictas. Which is interesting for awhile but watching stuff get pushed around is a wee boring over the term things. Gaah can't think. Anyhoo...umm...yeah.
RICKY!! God I wish someone would update or something. There isn't enough interesting KC news. Because they're in the studio. Which is good. But boring. And...yeah. Bored.

Linky Time!
I'm really hyper right now. And most of it has to do with the Killers. Bless their little souls and stupid haircuts! Anyhoo I've got links to explain my current insanity. Heehee...
What has Brandon done to his hair??? Right...look at the picture on the right hand of the page. The caption should say "The Killers Brandon Flowers." Now my question is: What has Brandon done to his hair??? Why did he have this need to fuck it all up? And the mustache? Dear God!! Only Michael and Chris (WAS) can get away with mustaches. And George Harrison. Brandon Flowers does not look good with a mustache. Aaaarrrggghhh.
NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! Why did Sam Jackson allow those idiots to do the soundtrack for his idiotic film? :thinks: Oh never mind. I mean it's called "Snakes on a Plane." Fall Out Boy deserves to do the soundtrack for this film. :cringes: Another movie I won't be able to watch.
That's cool. Tim Burton rocks. The Killers and Tim Burton would be like...Tim Burton and Johnny Depp. Except with music. Which is neato. Yay Fake DIY!!
Someone finally updated!! Not that I have any idea what they're talking about but oh well. It's an update and that makes me happy.
So umm...I've found out who my favorite ice skater is. Evan Lysacek. He's wonderful and makes me smile. Mucho thanks to Hannah. Mwhahahahahahahahaha.
I must come to Hollins. I'm love this place so amazingly lots. Teehee.

Squeee!!!!
Omg! I'm in Pleasants' computer lab at Hollins! And I got to see Ricky!!! Squeeeeee!!!!!!!!
February, Mr. Wilson, is well past the due date I set for you. Grrr...but at least I know now when to vaguely expect it. Which makes me extraordinarily happy. Squeee!!!
Umm...my roommate is cool. And I've made some friends. And I found a new Laura from Mississippi. :twitch: And my creative writing teacher is a flake to the umpteenth degree and makes me want to claw my eyes out. But my psych teacher is pretty cool. His specialty is child psychology which totally rocks.
Not much else. Life is good. I'm at Hollins. Squeee!!!

To The End
I'm incredibly bored with life. It's amazing how life is both incredibly boring and yet can go by very quickly. The days just go by and I do absolutly nothing. There's nothing to do. I don't want to practice my clarinet. I can read but even that get's tiresome after awhile. It's to fucking humid and hot outside to spend a lot of time outside doing something. It feels like the only thing to do is play freecell and listen to the same stuff I've been listening to all year. And this week will go by quickly and then I'll be at Hollins. I'm still excited about that. :sigh: I'm just so incredibly bored. Wish I had something more than Hollins to look forward to.
According to thekilleronline.net there's a tentative release date for the Killer's next album. Kind of excited. I haven't listen to them in God knows how long but...FF Ke Ki KC MP. Besides it's all their fault I'm an obsessive fangirl. So yeah...kind of exciting.
0_0 God I'm bored.
Here's a very funny interview with WAS. And after that you should go their site (www.wearscientists.com) and read the bit under the big logo. It's called Guess the Animal. Fucking hilarious. I must admit I didn't get the first one, but I did get the second one. Silly boys.
Hmm...other than that I'm spent. Sophs is back at WM. It's really humid and hot, which perfectly describes DC in the summer. I'm going to see the midnite showing of Pirates of Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest on Thursday with Jackie, Irais (tentatively), Angel, and Diane. Kind of excited. I'm getting my haircut tomorrow. :shrugs: Not much else. Go listen to "The Act of the Apostle, Pt.2". Tis a very, very great song. Then listen to "Hummingbird." Also a very, very great song. Till later mes copines.

Modern Way
I killed a bug tonite. It was a masterful kill. First a big dictionary and then a couple of jabs with a walking stick. All while "Na Na Na Naa" is flashing on the TV. You see I'm all alone (with Loghman worried half to death) and watching the rest of the KC DVD. I'm happy. Ricky is masterfully sexy (which I'm not sure is actually possible...). I killed a bug...
WHEN THE FUCK ARE THEY COMING OUT WITH THEIR NEXT FUCKING CD!?!?!?!?!?!? I know they're working on it but for fucks sake I'm desperate here!!! I've got a second CD from Franz and Keane. I don't give a flying fuck about the Killers. The Zutons have a second but it's import only (damn bastards). I need some new Ricky to sing along with. The first is starting to get stale. I'm almost done with DVD. The pictures are all repeats. I'm getting really pissed at their meager tour schedule (what the fuck is so special about fucking Iceland [other than the neat song by Fiery Furnaces]????). I'm almost depressed about this (which is even sadder than Iceland.)
This is what happens I'm all by myself. With access to diet Coke. Bad, bad things.
And "Modern Way" saves the day...
