Keane and Lily Allen Duet for Warchild
"Pete Doherty had also originally been set to perform, but had to drop out due to Babyshambles' commitments at the MTV European Music Awards in Munich tonight.
However speaking to NME.com earlier today, Doherty expressed his regret at not being able to attend the show.
'I would rather being doing the Warchild gig,' he explained. 'I have to apologize to Mr Tom Chaplin, or Charlie Chaplin as he became known in our Priory days together.'"
Pete Doherty and Tom Chaplin hung out together in rehab?????? I'm highly distressed and disturbed by this piece of information. However it is made up for by this quote from towards the end of the article:
"Before them [I assume the Pet Shop Boys but the article isn't clear] the Raconteurs' Brendon Benson played an acoustic set backed by 'these guys I found busking in the tube station,' namely Keane's Chaplin, [Tim] Rice-Oxley and drummer Richard Hughes."
But still...Pete and Tom as buddies? :screams silently in her head:
